Seems like we have 1 spot left, who/what am I missing?
Diakate

Per Jon Rothstein: UMass transfers Dejon Jarreau and Brison Gresham have cut their list to Georgetown, Seton Hall, and Creighton, per a source.

Good for the BE ... and UConn fans aren't happy about it, which makes it all the better.

I'm sorry I miss read the prior posts. If Diakate reclassifies than we wouldn't have a room for another big (grad transfer). Thanks MJM.

Who would have thought 2 weeks ago we would have this 'problem'.

There are no grad transfers left worth a scholarship. Before the Trimble signing it may have been good to sign a bench big with the emphasis on "bench". With the current lineup we could be a last in NCAA tournament team if we don't have unexpected losses like Delaware State and LIU last year.
The only question will be can Mullin instill a defensive mindset in a team made up of purely offensive minded players.

If in fact we have a scholarship to give -- and I understand that's an open question -- why does the signing of Trimble have any impact on whether it's "good to sign a bench big"? Short of signing a "problem child" or somebody who will hurt team chemistry, if we have a scholarship to give, I see absolutely no downside to our taking a flyer on a fifth year big man.

I agree. If you don't use it, you lose it. Grad Transfer is just a one year commitment.

I think Class of 72 said it best." There are no grad transfers left worth a scholarship. ".
Best to leave it open for now and if a Big European , transfer because of coaching change or anything else opens up we can at least try to get involved. As Austour pointed out there have been very late signings.

If Diakite graduates from OSL and "officially" enrolls for classes at SJU we would officially be at the max for ships. Trimble would have taken the last ship and unless I am missing someone.

I agree. That's why I premised my post by saying it's an open question whether we have a ship to give. I don't think Dialite reclassifying is a "done deal."

Next year will be a rehab year for Diakite, right? How many active guys on the roster?
9 or 10?

@Evan Daniels:

"There are now 702 total college basketball transfers. 232 of them have yet to make a decision about their next destination".

Boy, have times changed since my youth
When I was in college, almost ANY transfer was big news!!

200 of them belong in Division 2 .
The other 32 were also always late for class so their tardiness is expected. If they wait long enough Kentucky or Louisville may have an opening. :whistle:

Kentucky has a couple spots available as we speak. Not sure why they're not just picking up any grad transfer big they can get their hands on.

Per Rothstein;
VCU transfer Samir Doughty has committed to Auburn, per a source. Good get for Bruce Pearl.
