2017-2018 Season

I posted this before and really believe this is true. The high school coaches do not concentrate on defense and the star players are so quick they gamble continuously for steals. As result they don't concentrate on staying in front and beating their man to the spot thus cutting off drives to the basket and preventing the big men from picking up fouls.

Thank you for the link bobo. I didn't see this. Exactly what we were all talking about in the earlier posts. Sounds as CM is on this like we hoped.

Hey everyone!

I know I haven't posted in a long time, but i hope everyone is doing well. I've started my sophomore year at St. John's, very excited for the team this upcoming season!

The Wilson news was tough, but have heard some good things around here about Trimble, so we will see how things go. I think we can make the tournament this season, the talent is there, will the coaching be there? Very big year for Mullin as a coach.

I've missed redmen, hoping to post somewhat consistently from now on.

I'm looking forward to see how this year's edition has matured, including the coaching staff. We really need to focus on Defense. I think we have the talent on Offense to make the tournament, but the team has to be consistent with Defensive intensity. Getting psyched for our season with no Post-Season Pro football expected with the G-Men playing with a porous O-Line.

Impressed with the improved depth of talent (Simon & Clark) & length added to a potent backcourt at St.John's. Potential Tourney contenderpic.twitter.com/3rtoj6HSft

Has anyone heard the latest about Dwayne Morgan? I'm guessing it was never a real possibility, but he seemed to provide good depth for this season and next.

He postponed visit to concentrate on graduating in Dec. We are still recruiting him. Would love to get him for Dec. , we sure could use another big. My gut tells me, ain't happening.

Thanks for feedback, Rich. Yeah, seems to fil a great need. Saw a thread elsewhere that he leans toward Maryland. We shall see.

Hard to see him being able to contribute quickly in January to walk into Big East play, after sitting out this fall semester and not practicing w/ UNLV team. Rec ball and working out are nice, but he's also got the task of jumping into new coaches and teammates. This makes it more of move for next season IMO.

My guess is that this doesn't happen.

You're likely right. I was just trying to gauge whether there's some degree of 'mutual interest'. And hoping TO influences him to come here.
Agree, he'd be on a curve to get ready for the BE, but by season's end he might be productive and primed for a good '18 - '19 season.
But, it does seem a long shot.

Hope it dies because I like what he can bring to the Table Very athletic good length goes to the rim with authority and can defend

Well if it dies it ain't happening. ;) :) Seriously though if you can rebound you can rebound I wouldn't be concerned about his missed time in relation to helping us this season.
