I was in the building last night section 13 with just a few storm fans. I kept an eye on the bench a lot during UConn runs and some of our crazy shot selections. The team never panicked once. Assistant coaches seem to be way more into it than usual up and down barking help.. the best feeling watching the spoiled obnoxious UConn fans walk out the door down six with 30 seconds to go running to the cars to escape the madness of exiting that campus parking lot! Never been happier wearing Red! Does any team in the country really want to play us?

I said to my friends that UConn could not afford to have Karaban and McNeely on the floor at the same time down the stretch defensively and it showed with RJ losing McNeely on the ob play. This team is really growing defensively and could be one of the best defensive teams I have seen at St Johns in my 42 years of watching them. Super proud of this win it was well earned.

Watched the full Hurley presser. A couple interesting notes I took away.

- He hinted that his philosophy is to live with teams taking mid range jumpers, but he's going to make an adjustment next time we play them to try to take those away from us.

- He really really hates his point guard play.

UConn's season was done in by a rare bad evaluation on their part. They expected Mahaney to come in and be a very competent starting PG at this level. Now they're in scramble mode trying to get sufficient PG play out of an injured Diarra with no real backup.
They brought in a 5 star HS point guard but he’s been injured I believe.

The thing that most impresses me about this team is how they come back after a mishap and don’t let it affect the rest of the game. Many times mishaps, whether it be a bad pass, a bad foul a missed lay up dribbling through traffic etc. can snow ball into the other team having a run but not with this group.
