Wow an Alexd sighting! It’s been awhile.
 
After watching the game Tues( Dave think i sat in front of you) been around Uconn last 2 days..my thoughts
1) Diarra will play but yes he's def hobbled
2) Dan says Aiden hurting and game time...he's not, he's fine
3)Liam is good, really really good. Didn't see much rust..conditioning is his "minutes restriction" not the injury.
4) Their guards, especially Ball are not good defensively. He's VERY concerned about how coach will exploit that.
5) While this might not be a vintage Uconn team they looked sharp, have great half court sets and are going to try to exploit all the SJ switches.
Lastly and i know this will be unpopular...Dan is a really sincere guy. He's open about his struggles and unapologetic about his intensity. Yes yes yes his antics are unbearable and over the line ..but he's a great coach and actually a good man

Few things I'm looking forward to in this game:

- Alex Karaban came back to UConn and Dan Hurley...he's been hot and cold this year...one thing is for sure, I think RJ Luis Jr. is going to put him in hell. He hasn't seen a defender like RJ.
- Solo Ball might be one of the 5 best three point shooters in the country...it's pretty and it goes in at an absurd 45% rate. Gonna have to be physical with him and fight over tons of screens that Hurley will draw up to get him those looks.
- UConn's defense has been suspect this season. I know we don't shoot it well but if we can overcome the atmosphere, I think we can definitely go toe-to-toe with them putting the ball in the hole based on our extra possessions and ability to get to the rim.
- Hurley vs Pitino...how do the refs play into Dan and his BS antics at home? We know Rick has been ticked off at his behavior in the past...Tom O"Grady, aka the red jacket guy from last year will be in the building I'm told...hopefully he's in ear shot of Dan.

Hey we are riding high...why not us. Lets get this win and make it a hell of a week.

Well, tomorrow the self-proclaimed best coach in the country meets the real best coach in the country. Hope the refs remember that comment made to one of their compatriots. Our coach will have our propared and ready.
 
Idk why this would be the case in a tough environment on the road but I have a feeling tomorrow is a game where we start to return to mean in terms of our shooting. We are not a great shooting team but Deivon, Aaron and Sim aren’t as bad as they’ve all been recently from 3. Might be wishful thinking but it’s a gut feeling.
 
After seeing all the media clips / quotes from UConn - and the stage they are setting… it’s simple- they are scared.

-2$ beer night - crowd gonna be in another level
-Ben Gordon honored
-multiple players asking for a raucous crowd (standard I know… but feels different)

I expect a Win…. With one caveat… no foul trouble. If* Kadary/RJ/Zuby/Scott are able to all play 30+ mins… I have no doubt we are coming away with a win. A home whistle is their only option.
