The calm before the Storm.

First few minutes are important. I have this bad feeling that Referees will call this very tight early and human nature is to be influenced by the crowd. Gotta be careful early you don’t want someone getting a quick 2 fouls. Play tough but smart early.
I think you mean fairly, not so much tightly. UConn fouls nearly every time they set a screen. It is embarrassingly blatant and they get away with it much more often than not. And they must free their shooters because they do not have much of an inside game.

If the referees want to call those, then I am all for it.

This is Key... Zuby / RJ / Kadary/ Scott.... we need these guys to stay out of foul trouble
I’m not saying this to be a smartass but this will always be a key to a game and a concern I have — specifically for Scott and Sim. It’s a test to our depth and can make a game more flukey than it needs to be

Spent time with two die hard Uconn fans yesterday. They are really nice people and because of my crazy St. John's fandom, they both root for us, with one BIG exception.

They are both very worried about this game. They see a revved up St. John's team on a big roll and a Uconn team that has looked pretty ordinary at times. They think Karaban is in a funk.

I really liked hearing how worried these two fans are; I am not sure this is typical among the more assholery Uconn fans.

Watching so many BE games this year, the refs can call a foul on almsot every play. I like the refs who let ticky tack go and look to see if the "foul" was an advantage/disdvantage thing.

What we always want is consistency from refs, tight for both teams, loose for both teams and consistency through the game.

Don't change the way you're calling the game from half to half, etc., and in the last two minutes don't decide the game, either way.

I am sure they exist but The Sheik has never met any "nice" UCONN fans at MSG. They are the most obnoxious and rudest fan base I have encountered.

The world is ending

I once had a framed Cartoon in my Office .

It’s caption was a guy on the Street Corner with a sign that said
“ The World is ending soon. See me now for Full insurance Coverage !”

Years ago , a friend and I went to the Hartford Civic Centsr to see St John’s - UCONN. Had to be 1986.

He was a UCONN alum

The Johnnies were down big at half time and the place was Crazy .

Walter Berry went off in the 2nd half and
they couldn’t stop him . We Won going away .

The Truth was that kind of Player !

If Hurley’s players misinterpret his directive and watch Gladiator 2 instead of the original, we will win by 20 tonight boys!

Yes, you want consistency. But you do not want consistently moving screens with feet and elbows way apart and letting that go, just in the name of consistency.

EvanMiya has St Johns as the best bet today. Projects a two point victory but we are getting three
Torvik has UConn favorites at less than a point.

I wouldn't let any of these lines rattle our confidence in today's game. I give slight edge to UConn based on homecourt, a week to prep and hypothetically get Diarra/McNeeley healthy.

But it's going to be a good one...

#78 said it. Their perimeter defense has been bad all year.
