The 18th is the last day of finals. Not sure if that makes him eligible that day or not but hope you're right. Definitely eligible for AZ in SFO. Would have gone up for the night but I will be traveling to NY that day at some point for a trip home for the holidays, and will be gone by NYE so I'd miss Butler too. Later start time for eligibility reasons would be intelligent planning if that were the reason.

Pretty sure he becomes eligible the second the last final ends.

I actually kind of like the New Year's Eve game, but I understand why most people don't.

As a fan, I understand your thinking and agree completely but as a coaching staff and team you just can’t go there. There is no big picture, there is enough pressure game to game without adding to it. One game at a time is a time worn cliche because it is the only mind set that gets you there. You can’t look at it any other way or, in this instance, say you lose to Butler, you have introduced a very negative mind set going into that tough road stretch and just added more pressure to those games. As a coach you constantly fight that thinking because that is one of the ways seasons spiral downhill out of control. Even keel, one game at a time. And I repeat, as a fan, I certainly get your thinking.
 
A couple of games who's start time was TBA have BA'd.

Tuesday, 1/28 vs. Villanova at MSG is at 6:30 pm.

Saturday 2/8 at Creighton will start at 6 pm.

I'm across the country so doesn't affect me, but I can't remember the consensus: Do posters like or hate early weekday starting times in the city?

There is no consensus, from what I gather.

It's very hard to get to CA from Manhattan for a 6;30 start. I have to take an hour of leave time to do it. Fortunately, I usually have quite a bit of time saved, especially in November and December, when I have to get under a certain amount. That being said, being home by 9:15 on those nights is a good feeling.

I love it at MSG. I work on 55th and 8th, so I'm there in no time. 2 stops on the A train.

Now I'm just happy with having a bronx pale ale in my seat and taking pics with everyone at halftime :)

But I LOVE early weekend start times

Crazy that we have St. John's basketball actually happening very soon. I figured the NFL season would end within the first 3-4 weeks for me as a Jets fan and they did not disappoint! Has the offseason flown by for anyone else? This season I'm not expecting much of anything but I do expect to see max effort, getting better as the season goes on, avoiding too many blowouts though I know several will be inevitable, and I expect to see at least some semblance of a plan or a style on a consistent basis. I want to see that we hang our hats on pressure and defense. If we go .500 or better overall this year I will be happy. Get some top 150 recruits and some real size and I will be thrilled for future.
