New York Mets 2025 Season

I’m thinking that the way our NY baseball teams are playing that there must be something in the water.

It’s been a combo of

1) Lindor hitting .167 in the last 15. He hasn’t been the same since breaking his toe
2) losing Senga
3) all the young kids not living up to the hype
4) Vientos forgetting how to hit
5) lack of progression in Alvarez

I’m not sure how they turn it around. Getting some SP returns will help, but it might be too late.

I sure hope the Mets are in on this. Mitch Keller of the Pirates is being shopped around. Cubs mentioned. This is on multiple sites not just here. He shouldn’t cost a ton and he is controllable.

Garrett shouldn't have even showed up to work today. He was throwing up more meatballs than Mike Maher at an all-you-can-eat Italian restaurant

Even that fly out to centerfield he got was hit harder than any non-Soto Met has hit a ball in weeks

Stearns cannot escape blame here. Mets pitching has fallen apart. Carrying an almost 7 ERA since Senga went down. Depth what depth? We don’t have a pitcher for SUNDAY. Where’s Hefner? We all sung his praises and the magic of the mystical pitching “lab”. Of course, it was pointed out that the 2024 Mets pitching acquisitions had a lot of good fortune. Hard to duplicate that and well that’s proving to be true. Lots of questions few answers.

It is so crazy how that Senga injury we may look back on as the moment this season died. That was the fear last season too, but we overcame it. This year, we will see.

I’d add that Manaea just basically disappearing. He’s been out since ST. He was suppose to be a top of the rotation guy. It’s July now and he hasn’t pitched an inning. No time table. Don’t even know what the injury is.

When our players go down they just disappear. Senga has a Grade 1 hamstring strain. He’s been out almost a month. Right now they are saying “after the AS break”. Wanna bet?

I know the SP injuries weren’t his fault, but Mendoza has to be on very rocky ground:
So he was an excellent manager for a season, took the team deep into the playoffs, got off to a tremendous start and a less than 20 game horror show puts his job in jeopardy?
I disagree, unless you think Stearns and Hefner should go also. Frustrating stretch for sure but they are two games out of first and a half game out of leading the wild card. The fact is some injuries, and an unusual collective of the starting and relief pitching and the offense all going south at the same time.
Not a time to panic, stay the course.

very fair and reasonable

Lindor had been invisible quite a while now. Maybe the all star nod fired him up. 3 hits, 3 RBIs. Crucial win. Need to build on it now.

Thought Tidwell was at least serviceable

Diaz good. Got 4 outs
