2024-25 Season

If we all had logen's perspective(s) -- even if its fair and objective -- then we wouldn't have a message board.
Sure we would, it just would be more realistic and basketball oriented, even my post you guys responded to, why not tell
me why you think last nights game gave you insights as to how this team will develop if you disagree with me? I could tell you how Smith did not really impress me but that would be stupid because it was one freaking game. The opposite with Wilcher, a good player gets labeled that because of consistency, not off one game. Luis looked like the same talented knucklehead from last year but is he really? Time and more games will tell. I coached for a fairly long time, long enough to know the worst thing one can do is draw any conclusions based on small sample sizes. If that viewpoint disagrees with you, fair enough, that is your opinion.

As far as RJ kicking the ball goes--He gets one freebee. That's it.

Already an updated Joe Lunardi bracket.

Don't worry, he's not updating it every day. Every Tuesday through the new year, and then twice a week come January.

We're a 5 seed in the South (going to Milwaukee first, because of the pod system).

Just to have all the data UVA is presently at 94. Going 4-1 in any manner (lose to Baylor and beat UVA, or even better beat Baylor and lose to UT) would be great. 5-0, well we can all dream of what that would mean for the future.

PS reminder St Johns is 15 in Kenpom.

Imo Prey will emerge prior to BE play as key rotational player and will add intelligent play to the mix, obviously not a star, but competent. Getting here late set him back, but suspect he is making up ground in practice.

I predict he doesn't play much during the Bahamas, and it's something posters will love to bring up when questioning Pitino's rotations.

Hopefully he's ready to go by K-State. Their team is huge.

It's kind of jarring to see how much more positive he is about this team compared to last year's at this time.

He also said this:
“I’m going to be very transparent and very honest: I don’t know how good we are,” Pitino said. “Have we taken care of business in five games — two exhibitions and these three [including Fordham]? Yes, we have. But we’re [haven’t] seen competition like we’re facing in the next four or five games and we’re going to have to play every possession like we’re down by one.

“We’re going to find out,” he added. “I’m excited. I like my team a lot, but it’s the unknown right now. We’re going to see.”
