Pitino can definitely get more out of them than Anderson. I believe Jones will buy in. But will Curbelo?

I imagine most players have signed NILs by now so that might be tough except at schools with coaching changes where they might grant a release. Was perusing 247 and the only top 100 player still available is Bronny. I wouldn't want that circus in my town, just saying. Texas has a couple guys in the top 20 but remains to be seen if Beard leaving will have any impact. Terry was probably part of their consideration process and I think he'll keep the job. Probably gonna be all about the portal and improving what's already on the roster in year 1.

Clayton Jr. would not need a waiver. He committed to Iona out of high school. So, he can use the one-time transfer and play immediately. I don't know if he comes here, but I do not see him staying at Iona. He's an excellent player.

I like Clayton but before try to raid Iona roster, they got spanked by UConn and we played them tough both times with far inferior coach.

Really like posh but This might be unpopular opinion but Clayton is better and would welcome him here in a second to be given the keys to run the program. Would love if we can get him and keep posh.

I see Posh as a solid part of a 3 man backcourt. He could play some PG and some 2G depending on the situation. He could start or come off the bench as one of those instant spark kind of kids. I see Wusu in that same role coming off the bench to provide a jolt of energy. I am totally confident that Rick will figure out how to make it work.

Why is everyone using the words "raid" and "raiding". Pitino ain't "raiding" the Iona roster. Maybe one or two kids wind up here. Kids who would likely be transferring out and up anyway. But that is hardly "raiding" the Iona roster.

I don’t see it. With Pitino, it is defense first.

No way is Curbelo better or exerts more effort on defense than Posh.

Sure Posh may have his limitations, but under Pitino, he will be put in the best positions to succeed. And I am not betting against Posh.

Curbelo for all his issues was not a bad on ball defender last year. Was right there with posh and wusu as being the most disruptive guy on the team. He’s got plenty of ability there. Off the ball… that’s a different story.

I like Posh better and Curbelo makes everyone nervous. Everywhere Pitino has been he has had his point guard as a scoring option.
That is not Posh game. Just throwing it out there.
My only point is even at Posh best he is not really a Pitino guard. But again I gave every confidence he will figure it out.

The only way that I see Posh and Curbelo working is as part of a 3 man rotation, where they are rarely on the court together. And even at that, I still think that they have too many of the same strengths and weaknesses. Plus having 2 very small, non shooting guards, logging a lot of minutes doesn't really make sense. IMO Curbelo will be gone and Rick will bring in another guard who can better compliment Posh.
