Ah, then I chalk it up to our mental craziness. This team plays like it represents a psyche ward or they are in hunger games and fighting to survive; I laugh so much. At one point a Syracuse player was shooting a free throw and he made it in and Curbelo also slapped the dude five. 😭😭😭
We played very good D today. Obviously Posh was a beast but Mathis was terrific on Girard all night. Credit Wusu as well

Nice win
Would have lost at least 3 of these games the last 15 years.
Couple of easy fixes:
Jones- baseline, foul line shots and driving the ball is his strength. Settling for too many looong threes.
Curbelo- can live with the bad, maybe tone done the ridiculous stuff
Probably won’t happen, but if could just tone done the crazy turnovers….
Wusu-believe it or not thought played great in 2nd half
Didn’t drive and limited his shots
Storr-needs to play
Storr will get plenty of burn this year because of his shooting ability IMO. But tonight it was apparent early he was flummoxed by the zone. Add him to the list of nine million kids Jimmy B’s zone has impacted. There is nothing like it and he coaches it better than anyone ever has.

Here are some post game comments from the Syracuse University fans:

Damn, look at Nywie breaks down into Soriano's arms when holding the trophy.
And then look how the team reacts.
Damn.

You have to go to Twitter to see it. There are four videos attached to this tweet. Only one in showing here. It's the last video in this tweet.

we got them to play at our street ball level, ok. But why do you think Anderson outcoached Beiheim?
I thought our coaching was not that good tonight actually, but we won..so just curious.
I don't know how much street ball you've played, but as someone that has played a ton of it for 20+ years and organized basketball for 10+ years I can tell you street ball play isn't going to beat high major D1 players and HOF coaches.

Only because it’s said against Anderson just about every game. Think 3-4 posters said it in the first half alone this game. In reality these are college kids that are going to make mistakes not professional athletes. Some coaches pull kids after any mistake but that’s not Anderson’s coaching method. People might disagree but they need to live with it. I do feel that St. John’s attacked the zone very well tonight. Sure they missed some fairly easy shots in the high post (especially in the 1st half) and even some layups but in the end they got the W.

Who got MVP? Guessing Belo or if not Soriano.

I wrote last night about concerns over Posh. While I wasn’t able to put my finger on it, I think after tonight’s game I can. In short, Posh is an old-school player, smart, gritty and hard-working. While I find our transfers to be entertaining players who provide a lot of upside, their flashy styles don’t really align with Posh’s. When DJ took that 3 with 30 or so seconds left, Posh clearly expressed frustration. As talented as DJ appears to be, a disciplined player (or even an undisciplined player who played for a disciplined coach) would NEVER take that shot. I think this is a real potential problem that will become clearer as the season progresses, especially if the team goes through a 2-3 game slide. I hope I’m wrong, but am concerned that I’m right on this one.
