Wusu discussion

My 2 cents on Wusu. He deserves to start Based on last year
until someone (storr, pinzon ?)passes him.
I’ve always considered him a SF, not a 2g, rebounds about average

Curbelo has to earn starting spot. I don’t rule out Storr winning starting 2 or 3

Give me Wusu over Mathis all the time. Just don't put them on the court together. Whatever defensive gain you get from that, is more than offset by the lack of offense (though I think Wusu will be better offensively, without ball handling responsibilities).

Hopefully from what they had seen in the DR, that lineup wont happen. That lineup certainly lacks of firepower and rebounding. Until its proven otherwise, I still don't like the Curbelo and Posh start together. Since there are no proven shooters among the two guards, I would much rather go with Storr for his toughness and potential. Jones should not be playing the 4 with Wusu and Curbelo. Jones should be playing the three not a stretch 4. If I had my way, I would start the game with Soriano, Stanley, Jones, Storr and Posh. That group gives you defensive boards, more offense from offensive rebounds, and much stronger inside play which would allow Jones and Posh more open looks outside the arc.I think that starting Dylan would create a slow start as I would even prefer Mathis and bring Curbelo off the bench to ignite the team. Dylan will have some good games but as we all saw last season they were few and far between. Where Pinzon fits in is anyones guess but coach plays many so he will get in. Of course Nwye will spell Soriano or Stanley. In terms of Drisa, I have to see what he does. Again this is one man's opinion as I know there are many here who love Dylan.

Love that lineup! I think Stanley has earned starting and he brings offense and rebounding .Soriano seems so much more comfortable and confident and Jones is a Star waiting to happen. Love Storr too!

I'll be a little surprised if four of the five starters aren't Posh, Curbelo, Soriano & Jones. Could see fifth starter being any of Stanley, Wusu or Storr. Time will tell.
Just curious, in terms of Curbelo, will you be surprised if he does not start cause you think he deserves to start or cause, as many may believe that that was part of the deal (or should I say, unwritten agreement) to get him here?

Could not agree more on all fronts Steve. Wusu deserves and should be a opening night starter until it’s taken from him.

In Andersons system, starting lineup is earned, no other criteria! Curbelo didn’t look good in DR, unless he’s much more comfortable, he doesn’t start. Same with Wusu and Mathis, no carryover from last year since there’s such an upgrade in talent. Needs to be earned and a good team fit

As long as Wusu doesn't go 0-7 on layups I have no problem with the lineup. Will be torture for the opponents back court

I expect the starting lineup to be Posh, Curbelo, Wusu, Jones and Soriano. Curbelo has to earn his spot but will get the benefit of the doubt if it's close. My hope is that Storr can earn substantial minutes as the season goes along. There is a lot of quickness on this team but outside of Jones and Mathis who can't finish not a lot of guys who can attack the basket from the wings. Wusu has a lot of skill but that isn't one of them. Posh will be great again, fingers crossed on Curbelo and hopefully King can be a good backup. I really like Jones and we have a good frountcourt to support Soriano in Stanley and Nwiye. Just one opinion but I feel that Storr's development is very important and that's not a knock on Wusu.

JR, the way I look at it is Posh, Jones, Curbelo & Soriano stand out as four who have shown a higher level of talent at division 1 college level. I also think the logic behind pursuing Curbelo was likely staff's feeling that he and Posh would be a lethal backcourt combination. I am not ready to change that view based on a couple of what were really scrimmages in the DR. I do agree that if performance during practice between now and the start of the season dictate others deserve to start, Coach will make that call but hope that is not the case because I think we will be our best team if Posh & Curbelo show they can play well together.

I like Wusu as 6th man spark off the bench. Posh seemed to shoot well in the DR and everyone is saying he has worked hard on his three point shot in the off-season. I would start Curbelo, Posh, Jones , Stanley and Soriano.
