The Mets and Stearns built a team on a bunch of high risk pitching prayers that have blown up in our face. I am not talking about the younger pitchers. We gambled with the likes of a not so durable Senga, a relief pitcher turned Starter in Holmes, a one year pitching over his head returning to earth in Manaea and the up and down career of David Peterson. This worked in 2024 but 2025 has been an abject failure.

Last year we were all praising the magical pitching lab and our Sorcerer pitching coach Jeremy Hefner. You think our Starters are bad just get a load of our bullpen. This season has been as disappointing as anything over the last 40 years.

Why is Jose Siri playing? Anyone? This guy sucks. He’s struck out 6 of 8 plate appearances. He is unplayable.

Patrick Corbin is one of the worst starters in baseball and we can’t touch him. We are playing absurdly bad at this point.
