My thoughts as well. UVA will never be competitive. Va Tech is a different story....a lot more fan interest.
We've made it through an August without any UConn Big 12 rumors, the last time we didn't hear any was 2022. In 2023 and 2024 they were coming off of NCAA Titles a few months prior. Football obviously drives conference realignment, but basketball played a major role in the rumors. Also think the Big 12 wanted to destabilize the Big East during their TV contract negotiations. This year St. John's owned the Big East, so UConn's appeal went down some I'd imagine.
