That is Marillac…couldn’t more confident.
Mets just promoted Benge, Jett Williams, Clifford, and Tong to AAA. I love keeping them together. They will get some playoff exposure for Syracuse in September.
Likely means will see a few call-ups this week. McLean just pitched today on 4 days rest for the first time. Might be the Mets trying to align him with their rotation.

The only issue with calling up the young arms is what innings limit will they be one.
It wouldn’t shock em to see all these kids on the roster to start next season. Having 2-3 cheap pitching and bat options will give the team some FA flexibility. We clear 110m off the books and maybe more depending on Pete. We will already be at 250m before FA starts.

Ugh, I botched this - I meant 2007, when we waited until late September to blow the lead - seems we lost every game down the stretch either 10-9 or 2-1.
Does Lindor need to rest for a few games to get himself right? Mauricio is still listed as a shortstop prospect.
Sproat should be clear to pitch as needed. He's built up innings over the last 3 seasons. McLean would probably be limited...my guess would be another 30 innings for this season.

Momentum factors in huge for these rankings. It's criminal that Ewing is left off IMO. I'd also put Clifford in the bottom third of that list and Reimer 85 to 100. Sproat and Santucci aren't far off either.

Clifford is a low average, high strikeout, high power guy in AA. He is ranked as the #10 first base prospect. If he comes out and takes in AAA he could move up, but he isn’t a top 100 prospect at this point.
But he is good onbase %. Could be your prototypical three result hitter.
I think Clifford profiles as a fringe top 100 prospect. He’s on some lists and not others. Probably can only play first base.
A concern and a positive are his splits. Has an OPS over .900 against righties but below .700 against lefties. Seems like a good candidate for a future platoon when it’s time to get his feet wet.

I get the argument against him...he's a very stiff athlete. He likely won't be able to stick in the outfield. Scouts also crap on first base in their rankings and he's a really slow starter. But there aren't a lot of guys that can potentially hit 40 homers in the majors and he is one of them.
Here are some interesting comps: Lucas Duda had a combined 155 games at AA Binghamton his age 23 and 24 seasons and hit 15 homers, drove in 87 runs, with a .390 OBP and batted around .283.
Alonso played in 76 combined games in AA Binghamton his age 22 and 23 seasons. He hit 17 homers and drove in 57 runs, batting a really impressive .312 with a .435 OBP. He was ranked around 50.
Clifford, in 105 games of his age 21 season, has 24 homers and 75 RBI while hitting just .243 with a .355 OBP. He's logged 31 games in the outfield with 0 errors, limited range, but a strong arm that has produced 2 assists.
I think its safe to say he projects to be in the middle of those two professionally, but the age and the potential power does make the potential ceiling intriguing.
Saturday is ... August 16th. Right after the August 15th deadline to be rookie eligible.
He also said Blackburn isn't an option. So it has to be one of those two.
