Apology acceptedSorry everyone
The Mets’ playoff odds just went up to 95.376666 percent after that win.A full game shutout, 20 games over .500 and the best record in baseball. A nice way to wake up.
It’s crazy the pitching depth this year.Get Manaea back and hope he is similar to what he was last year… and I think there’s no reason we can’t win it all. Exciting times
Could be an opportunity to get some pitchers rest. Piggy-back a few of these guys like Megill off of Montas and Manaea when they get back and then Clay Holmes and Senga to keep those arms fresh for the playoffs. The latter pair is stacking a lot of innings after very few in 2024. Holmes has already pitched 10 more innings than he did in 2024. Holmes and Senga should be getting 5-6 days rest every start the rest of the way and a few games should be 3-4 inning expectations. It’s crazy the pitching depth this year.
Unbelievable that McGill with his best year as a met- 3.76 era over 13 starts
might be sent down to make room for montas or Manea!
I wonder how they handle Holmes. He's already at his career-high in IP and its June 12th. It seems inevitable he will be in the bullpen come October, but who knows.Could be an opportunity to get some pitchers rest. The bullpen has also been taxed this first half. That should help them as well.
Remember the Alamo, or even 2023The Mets’ playoff odds just went up to 95.376666 percent after that win.![]()
The other day, it was Ron or Gary, who spoke about this.I wonder how they handle Holmes. He's already at his career-high in IP and its June 12th. It seems inevitable he will be in the bullpen come October, but who knows.
Also think if Canning has to be sent to the bullpen, it's an easy piggyback opportunity to preserve some strength/innings.The other day, it was Ron or Gary, who spoke about this.
They mentioned that the Mets have “no restrictions” BUT they monitor the players (pitchers) strength vis some kind of physical testing. They feel Holmes is a strong guy but he is being “monitored” like all their pitchers and they will react based on these metrics and adjust accordingly. Sounds like they have a plan at least.
Yes. Would be such a difficult conversation with Canning. I mean the guy has far exceeded my wildest dreams already even with a couple of so so starts. Good problem to have though. Crazy how good and steady this staff has been. Also think if Canning has to be sent to the bullpen, it's an easy piggyback opportunity to preserve some strength/innings.
