RJ Luis

Going to be tough to replace the big east player of the year and kadary richmond no matter how much repole will cough up.

Guys like that dont grow on trees.

Will be a very interesting offseason for the johnnies.

I hope there's not some drastic 3 point regression coming his way soon because he has been absolutely on fire from 3 lately, makes him and the team completely unguardable when he's making shots like this
I think the last few months was the “regression” to the mean. He’s around a 35% shooter this year with a full sample size.

Sim and Aaron have some room to run northwards.

I hope this was not RJ’s last game as a Johnny don’t want to see him go out like that. Hopefully whatever the real reason is that RJ was benched it’s not something that drives him away hopefully it something he learns from and makes him come back better.

One of the classiest kids to have ever played here. Didn’t deserve to be on the bench at the end no matter how he played during the game. He earned more respect from the coach. Hope RJ comes back and leads next years team to a championship. Thank you RJ!

It doesn’t take a genius to see that coach probably implored RJ - both individually and as part of the team - to pass and share the ball, and he refused to listen. While I don’t agree with him sitting the full last 5 minutes, I’m sure that Pitino was well beyond a reasonable amount of a player not even attempting to listen to him and he didn’t make the decision to sit him lightly.

RJ had an amazing season but has a terrible game. He would be the first to tell you that and he did. There’s nothing more here to it then that. Rick really likes RJ which is evident by their relationship the whole season. This is much overblown.

Did what to himself? Played his butt off all year. Took us to two champsionshops. Won big east player of the year and then had the audacity to have a bad game in the NCAAs. He did nothing to himself.

There was a moment in the first half where Rick completely snapped/lost it in the huddle, and would be shocked if it wasn’t RJ. He played horribly today. A true F-. It was all hero ball and never looked for his teammates. Rick said we lost because we didn’t pass enough. RJ HIMSELF said he should’ve been a better leader today. Rick’s eyes almost bulged out when Zach told him that. His body language said it all.

RJ had a terrific season but Kadary being off the court exposed his flaws in a huge way. No one was out there to cool the temperature, get others involved, and get good looks. He isn’t owed playing time if he isn’t listening to the coach and also shooting 3-18.

Not the first time either! Been a recurring theme throughout the year.

Try to understand DK’s “did it to himself” comment as well…

Now as others and think Rick alluded to post game- if he gave RJ explicit instruction to move/pass… and RJ wasn’t taking heed.,. I understand subbing out for a period… but to sit the BE POY / 2nd team AA… for the final 5 mins in a do or die game….with Kadary already Fouled out… Man.

Not like anyone else was lighting it up lol… 14-63 sans Zuby… only person he should have been passing to was Zuby lol.

Anyway… perplexing end to a magical season.
