Around the Big East

Oklahoma took care of business in OOC, with strong wins against Arizona, Michigan and Louisville, along with non-optional wins against Georgia Tech and Providence.

I get why they're in the conversation with Xavier. X lost to Michigan by 28, Wake is their best OOC win and they aren't even on the bubble, and Creighton/Marquette wins are good but they aren't top 25 wins.

I ask this question as someone who thinks the Big East is good for college basketball & the SEC is bad for college basketball.

But, if Vanderbilt (8-9), Arkansas (7-10), Georgia (7-10), Texas (6-11), and Oklahoma (5-12) were in the Big East, what do we think their conference records would be? I can't help but think they'd all be in that X/Villanova tier, if not slightly higher.

No doubt

All of them? They'd probably bunch up from beating up on each other.

Any one of them (but no other)? At or near the top of the league standings.

The SEC, IMO, is the real deal, but I wouldn't be shocked if some of their teams went home early from the NCAA tournament, because they are fatigued from playing in games that feel like wars every night.

Lunardi w 5 BE Dance participants;

5 would be great considering how the OOC went, a month or two ago bracketologists only had 3 Big East teams in. Will still be tough for Xavier to get in, but the other 4 teams shouldn't have any problem.

Just 3 for the ACC. Would love to see these numbers on Selection Sunday.

Some chatter that God called collect to Father Shanley asking for 4 BE T Johnnies tickets.
Any truth to the rumor that Fr. Shanley’s response was something to the effect: that normally as a Vincentian school, they would happily oblige, but with the amount of money and publicity, St. John’s will be going the Jesuit route and respectfully decline. Business is business.
