No clue who this guy is, but I like what he has to say
This guy Ryan Poutre CBB Review (never heard of him) knows what he's talking about.

He dissected us and Uconn spot-on, has us a top 2 seed and potential National Champion.

From his keyboard to God's ears.

Postgame pressers

After watching Hurley's Press Conference, it is hard to believe that this guy who was fine at the presser -- (actually excellent breaking down the game and the two teams, very complimentary to the Johnnies) -- is the same guy who gets into fights with the fans in the stands and harangues refs so much.

This might have been talked about already.

But Lefty deserves to get a little more burn in the rotation.

This is based on the eye test, defense can definitely be a bit of a liability but his shot can potentially be a difference maker.
Think he was starting to feel it yesterday.

Was it ever explained what was going on when Hurley picked up Scott's sneaker, held it from him for a bit, showed it to the ref, then shook Scott's hand before giving it back? Such a bizarre sequence.

Brutal article on Hurley

He just lacks the maturity and temperament to accept winning a third straight “Natty” is incredibly difficult, especially after losing four outstanding college players now earning $. I respect Hurley’s competitive nature, coaching & recruiting acumen, but find it sad he just can’t smell the roses. I watched Tom Izzo this year celebrating his MSU accomplishments and contributions of his players. He has been in the winning circle, but has also had his disappointments. More importantly, Izzo appreciates his life as a coach and rolls with things, while Hurley seems incapable of such and likely headed to burnout. I can’t imagine how his persona would translate to the pros.

Watching the replay Lefty appeared to be a much better defensive player then what us posters have giving him credit for . He is quick enough to pressure the ball and get back to cover his man.
Offensively he naturally defers to Richmond and RJ so he is not looking for his shot but I think he will be a contributor next season if he returns. I’d like to see him get more minutes vs Butler and Seton Hall and he could contribute in the big east and NCAA tournaments. He needs a breakout game but it is obvious he has outside shooting talent.

Yeah but misleading, chants were from St John’s fans not UCONN. And those chants are usually directed at player that haunted a fan base, Reggie Miller, Trae Young, Dennis Potvin, etc. Actually a sign of respect, fear?
I hate Hurley and hated Boheim, Calhoun, Coach K, etc. But never considered any of them a “joke”.

The article was written by a 24 year old Indian girl for an Indian sports website. And half the article was "...and here's what HuskyBoner42069 said on Twitter...". Not sure she or anyone else in New Delhi has her finger on the pulse of what the college basketball world thinks of Dan Hurley.

Think he thought the sneaker belonged to one of his players as he was barking at the referee to pause the game. Think he was genuinely surprised that it was Scott’s sneaker. For some odd reason he thought Scott wanted to shake his hand when Scott reached for the shoe.

Not directed at you, your post is just my vehicle so apologies in advance,
But why do people insist on thinking human beings are one thing? I ignore Hurley posts here because as I have posted, I have known him since his time at Seton Hall and he is a very good dude, his “competitive persona” notwithstanding.
People are certainly entitled to their opinions and Danny wears it on his sleeve and obviously brings a fair amount of the criticism on himself.
But personally, two of my least favorite coaches are John Wooden and Coach K, and not just because both were stone cold cheaters, there were a LOT of those, but because both worked very hard to create public images directly in conflict with the cheating, two total phonies in my book, but most disagree, I acknowledge that. But give me someone who lives life up front every time.

He seemed also to get what D system is funneling his man into traffic and recovering fine. Not saying he is a quick Dev type staying on the ball, but heady enough to hold his own on D in time as he develops. Just my preliminary opinion.

Lefty’s future role will be 3 pt Shooter
If he masters that role , no one will care if he can’t guard a lawn chair .
