#11 Marquette (MSG), Tue., Feb. 4, 6:30p, FS-1

If st johns losses on Tuesday, the #1 one thing about st johns will be, "yeah but they havent beaten anymore".

I want that narrative killed and I believe it will be.

Johnnies will win on Tuesday.
Small potatoes, think big picture.

That’s where I also disagree. I mean honestly in terms of PR I’d say winning @Uconn would make a bigger statement to casual fans, because casual fans know UConn won the last two championship (and is a shoo in for the 3peat according to some ;))

and that game is on a Friday night on Fox so likely more people would take notice of it

To me these games this week are both equally huge. If we go 0-2, I think id definitely start to flirt with games becoming must wins from a PR and season standpoint. Im def not there yet
We have five games coming up against Marquette, UConn and Creighton. If we want to set ourselves up to get a the best tournament seed we can and if this team is to prove that they have the potential that we all feel they have , then we have to win 3 of those 5 games. Which of the three we win doesn’t matter but we need three.

Here’s what’s puzzling to me. For those that don’t feel this is an important must win. If you all claim to be the fans you say you are, and claim this team to be as good as you say, why not hold the team to a high standard. I expect this to be a win and will be very dissapointed if they don’t. I don’t expect wins on the road at Marquette or even UConn but why shouldn’t we expect a win at home?

And that my friends, is not “silly” at all it’s having confidence in the product on the floor.
Silly apologies if I’m wrong, weren’t your predicting a loss to x or Gtown?

I did predict a loss for the first Xavier game on the road but in terms of the Hoyas, I said it would be a tough game without Smith but thought we would win.

You’re a sly guy, I know what you are trying to do but when I predicted the loss on the road to Xavier, it was some time ago before the team was on any kind of run. My standards for this team have been upgraded.

We are going to have defend Jones , a lefty and Ball a lefty shooter for the Huskies to win both , games .

Pitino ought pick up a lefty shooter next season .
There are harder to defend .

"If in fact Smith is not going to play, I don’t feel confident at all about this game. As I stated earlier, this may be a G Town team playing with something to prove."
