All good, I just know some people have associated us together because we did the pod together last season and we are vocal on social media, so I wanted it to be clear.

Good chance there's two additions this week.

The other thing is staff has said they expect an avalanche of entries into the portal this week and next before the May 1 deadline. People don't want to hear it but being selective allows you to weigh all your options. You can be mad that they didn't add 2 pieces a week into the portal opening, but what if players 5x better who fit better go into the portal this Friday and you can't get them because you jumped the gun? These are the real conversations that are happening in Queens I can tell you.

I will reserve judgement until we have 13 guys in a handful of weeks.

Unfortunately I think there would be a majority of fans on Twitter who would look at numbers and POY and be much more excited by him than Scott.
 
These poor rising freshmen, man. The 2023 class may end up going down in history as having the hardest experience. Playing against 5th and 6th year players as freshman and sophomores.

As soon as the guys in front of you leave then coach just reloads with more.

The twitter brigade of which I'm proudly one of, do tend to lean mentally unstable. They also end up being experts in player evaluation off a few twitter clips and youtube videos. I don't think many people were dabbling in Jackson State game footage. BUT on the surface, this kid would be a piece. He can get a bucket, has good size and shot almost 40% from three on over 5 attempts that will work anywhere. Could he handle the step up in competition who knows. But he wouldn't be your end all be all guard.

Feels like this fan base is having a hard time remembering we're St. John's and we haven't won jack in 24 years. You're not just waltzing into a bidding war with Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Kansas and UConn.

Last year was last year and Pitino did what he had to do. This year it appears he is doing it his way and that’s what they brought him here to do; like all teams we have a ton of fans who know how to do it better than him; I get it but frankly I just don’t think so.

Great advice, hard to do. Still confident RP will get it done.

Like I said before I won’t be upset with the staff for grabbing him. I just wouldn’t expect him to be a real player at this level. Could he help as a peice, as you put it, absolutely. But we’re talking 8-10 not 3-6 on the depth chart IMO.

And I’m not sure 3pt % transfers as well as that. There’s probably examples of it both ways, but here’s three from our team alone who jumped up in competition level.

Dingle 36% -> 31%
Conway 38 -> 31
Luis 35 -> 20
 
I mean Luis had the Shin Splints and Conway had limited PT. I think Dingle never really got his confidence which is concerning in regards to comp level but that could also not being a fit in pitinos system. Lateral Quickness and all...
