Villanova (MSG), Wed., Jan. 24, 8:30p, FS-1

Minko is really nice guy. He was at the St. John’s party down in Charleston He also got to witness greatness when he saw a young “ White Chocolate Maher “ dominate in a charity basketball ball game back in like 91 at Alumni Hall when WSJU played WFAN although we had 1 or 2 girls playing on our team and even White Chocolate couldn’t make that deficit up
I have officially changed your name in my phone to Mike "White Chocolate" Maher!🤣🤣

And that’ll do it for this weeks edition of “the micro managing of daniss jenkins”
I caught some shrapnel by responding indirectly about Jenkins in this thread, but I truly didn’t have a problem with his performance. 9 shots is amazing and he didn’t dribble the air out of the ball. I’ll sign for that the rest of the way.

He took 4 dumb shots in this game. The step-back 3 brick you mentioned and another 2 pt jumper were almost comical.

If you think a 30% shooter taking a 3 off the bounce from beyond the NBA 3 is not a bad shot, then I think you and half this forum just fundamentally disagree on what constitutes a bad shot.

The thing that irks me about Jenkins is how the hell is your bomb a better shot than almost anything else we could get? Look at the position Joel had on that? Bro! He was 7-8 and everyone knew he was locked in.

Then, look at Luis play you accurately described. There wasn’t a single person watching that didn’t know Jenkins was taking that shot. You can see the actual moment Luis realized. His defender isn’t even looking at Luis but Jenkins has already decided he’s shooting it and missed a wide open cut to the basket.

The third photo is Jenkins shooting 7 feet from behind the three-pt line with 17 seconds on the shot clock😂 This is a kid that shot 24.6%, 23.3% and 30.1% from 3 in his three seasons above the MAAC. If this is Ponds, let it rip baby. But Jenkins?

Taylor hasn’t taken a single bad shot all season and he’s shooting 43.6% from 3. Jenkins took 4 bad shots in one game. They are nearly identical shooters to me. Why does one not settle for bad shots while the other shoots with no concern about the situation?

Luis is shooting 36% on the year and 27% from 3. 11 for 35 last 3 - 25%, 38% and 20% from field last 3. He wakes up in the morning wishing he shot as well as Jenkins without one word of condemnation from the incessantly droning hypocrites. Why don't you try supporting ALL our players as we do? It'll be life altering for you.

During 4 of his free throws this year, (so 25% of them) he came up limping immediately preceding the free throws.

If happened in the prov game, happened last night. I wouldn’t put too much stock into it
Pitino had him shoot two tech free throws at nova (he missed both). I can’t imagine Pitino would have had him shoot those if Brady didn’t routinely knock them down in practice.

Ponds didn’t exactly light it up from three either, particularly after his freshman year. I think he shot it below 30 percent his sophomore year.

While I don't bet, I will be rooting hard for the Ravens to beat the Chiefs. Can't take two weeks of Taylor Swift leading up to the Super Bowl. Monte, what position does she play 🤣

Also rooting for the Ravens, but would love to see the Lions beat the 49ers and make their first Super Bowl.

No clue how this guy gets to troll every thread by trashing Jenkins. Its really unnecessary and annoying. Just go follow Butler and drop the Jenkins nonsense.

1. It seems only fair that if Jenkins controls the ball 75% of the time and takes 50% of the shots that he gets a proportional amount of attention here.

2. Marillac2 may be as prone to hyperbole as Marillac1 was, but IMHO (and others) he is absolutely directionally correct about Jenkins.

3. You aren't wrong that repeating the same thing over and over = spamming the site, but I don't think a documented analysis of someone's performance in a game falls remotely into that category. I have to say, one of several reasons for my sabbatical from the site is that so much of the discourse had become tiresome repetition and personality conflicts - and that the feel has been completely different recently. But one thing that could send the place back into a downward spiral is calling out or subtweeting other posters. If you don't like / agree with a post, ignore it or respond to it as you choose. I think you may even be able to mute a poster if you find them THAT annoying (not sure, I haven't played with all of the tools in this version, but I think I've heard that).

4. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but they don't get their own facts. Facts that someone finds inconvenient for their argument are still ... facts. But of course there are always contrary facts and opinions.

5. Live and let live, kumbaya, puff the magic dragon, and all that jazz.

Jenkins is the point guard
But yes Luis shot selection is poor too

I don't know Marillac but I'm positive after this post that his last name is Zapruder.

Mink told a story on WFAN Wednesday before the game, he started in radio doing play by play at Butler he is fond of Butler his alma mater of course.
I always felt that FAN never gave Mink enough Air Time . He was capable of so much more than just giving the 20 minute updates .

Just a aside , I am a big Bill Rafferty fan too. I enjoy our games so much more when he gets to be the Color Analyst on TV .

He has lots of great stories about BE BB that he interjects into his commentary at times . He loves Louie stories .
