Villanova (MSG), Wed., Jan. 24, 8:30p, FS-1

St. John's won it for the Mink Man, John Minko who says broadcasting as the play by play man for the Johnnies is his dream come true. Class Personified.
Minko is really nice guy. He was at the St. John’s party down in Charleston He also got to witness greatness when he saw a young “ White Chocolate Maher “ dominate in a charity basketball ball game back in like 91 at Alumni Hall when WSJU played WFAN although we had 1 or 2 girls playing on our team and even White Chocolate couldn’t make that deficit up

Foul shooting can be so mental and since Pitino put Dunlap in the lineup at the end of the Prov game even though he had a slightly sprained ankle and Prov was forced to foul and Dunlap missed both shots after being fouled he hasnt taken many foul shots but the few he has taken he doesn’t seem comfortable.
Pitino wouldn’t have put him on the floor if he didn’t have confidence in his foul shooting ability so Dunlap could use a game where he gets five or six foul shots and he probably will be fine. He has such a good shooting stroke it just seems he would be a capable foul shooter.

That was a defensive clinic as Rick Pitino's guys bounced back in a major way. While Joel Soriano found his groove again, nothing stood out more than the smothering defense that held Villanova to 50 points. It was an encouraging sign of the growth of this team and highly encouraging of the never ending potential. We discuss the next notch on Pitino's belt of player development, how vital Dingle is to this roster, Glenn Taylor's impact and so much more in St. John's big win at MSG

Missed most of the posts in this thread because I was at the game, so not sure if this was mentioned: but I think that we led wire to wire in both our games against Nova this year. Pretty damn impressive if you ask me.

Just watched bits and pieces of the game as I have it on DVR. I get so aggravated watching a game that's over that I watch when they play well and fast forward when they go into a funk. Then I fast forward to the last few minutes. Box score shows Brady going 0 for 2 from the line. I know he has had limited attempts, but 42% from the line is strange for a guy that looks like a shooter. Hope it's not a mental thing. Didn't check college stats, but there was Bruce Bowen as a good 3 point shooter but under 60% from the foul line. Does anyone recall how bad the 2 misses were?
They were bad
