I would rather the next Yankees manager be someone completely from the outside. Someone with no previous ties to the organization, whatsoever.

This is because, I feel, the Yankees have to completely change the way they do things, on and off the field. It's why I applauded the amended facial hair policy, this year. That was a step in the right direction, IMO.
 
Mattingly suffers from an anti-Yankees, anti-NY bias. There is no doubt in my mind that he is a HOFer. The numbers calling him a below average 1st basemen are and argument that that analysis is pure horse hockey. He was a "Great" fielding 1st basemen. He was elite.
