Yakwe Transferring

Why can't we get a guy like this? ;) :) Seriously though, you can still root for him individually and hope Uconn loses. He can average 40 points and 20 rebounds as long as Uconn loses for all I care.

I hope he does fantastic, so much so that he steals all of Sid WIlsons minutes.

And that UCONN loses all their games.

Yawke's transfer should be looked to be a plus as far as SJU is concerned. After three years he could not make a jump shot from six feet and the staff has lost all confidence in him. Now get a recruit or transfer to replace him. Last season SJU was playing four vs five on the offensive side with him on the floor and his rebounding abilities on the defensive end could not make up for that.
Will a change of venue change his skill set? Unlikely but Conn is willing to give him a shot and since he will only be a one year player it is not a great gamble.

He's gone. Turning my page. I don't wish him troubles, but he's gone over to the Dark Side.

I'm with you. I hope he is the lone bright spot in terrible year for Uconvict. The whole Yakwe situation never sat well with me. Honestly when we were rolling out walk-ons and playing AA 30 minutes before he got off the bench I was surprised he didn't leave the team early.

Leaves me torn, I want him to do well, but if he gets 10 and 6 a game it will reflect poorly on our staff. Let's just hope we everyone wins with this change of scenery.

Hope he does well, but if he's averaging 40 points and 20 rebounds a game, I think we'll all be pulling out our hair and suffering from a bad case of agita.

If he averages 20 minutes, let alone 20 rebounds, I would be shocked. It will be interesting to see how Hurley uses him as opposed to Mullin, who forgot his name. That Uconn is taking the last man on our bench as a grad transfer shows how far they have fallen.

Is he graduating a year early? If so, I must have missed it. If not, he is sitting out this coming season and will play the following one.

He graduated

On the UConn forum, some fans, including this one, are a little unrealistic about him:

Reminds me of an 80s tune...

Boom, boom, boom
Send it in to Kassoum
And he will jam it all night!
He will put up a fight!!
Whoa-oa-oa!!

Turns out, so were we.

He may very well. But "jam it all night"? I don't think so.

With his poor B-ball IQ
Hillbilly fans will sure boo
Into Dan's plans he'll throw wrench
He may not leave the bench!
