Tough loss. Great effort . You can see the style of hoop Mullin wants to play. referees hurt us tonight ...... Side note Matt A just tweeted "big program day tomorrow "

We are becoming the "Gonzaga of the East" and soon after that, Gonzaga will struggle to keep up with us and they will yearn to become the St Johns of the West. We will
no longer have to play " second fiddle" to other non- football Catholic schools.
Our time has finally arrived.
Thanks to all who are making this happen.
Go Storm!

Balamou played fine. Better, but just fine. He should never take a jump shot.

Ellison played better as well. Although, when he goes to the rim there is apparently a lid on the basket.

Great energy from the whole team. I appreciate their approach.

Does anyone else periodically grab a pen and paper to write down our probable roster for next year? Try it, it's fun.

Guys played hard and aggressive...all in all fun game to watch...refs were horrible...Yakwe clean block...T on Balamou was BS as Reynolds wrapped his legs around him...

I think Mullin may have to pull back the automatic green light as we take too many long, early in the shot clock jump shots...and we don't get back on defense quickly enough...

needs to pull guys until they learn

Mullin has continually said he wants them to run and take the first good shot before the defense sets up.
Nest year's results will be improved.
I get it...but he also has told them to at least give the defense a chanc eto make a mistake...I guess I just get frustrated watching Johnson take these low % shots when we need an easy basket

Agree on his shot selection. But Mussini has been thus far a disappointment regarding his shooting %and his inability to defend or get open for his shot

I have to agree about Mussini...after Cuse game i thought he was god from 3...but since then he has showed nothing and now has become a dissapointment...Right now Ellison has more upside

Ever think Mussini may be tired?
Fact is he is playing too many minutes, is asked to do too much and is playing out of position. He will be better next season when only playing 20-25 minutes a game.

Playing out of position thing is a bit over blown. Guy is 6-0 150 where should he play Center?
Bottom line is I agree he will probably be more effective in smaller role, but if he doesn't knock down shotes next year at a much higher rate he will find playing time hard to come by.

Ever think Mussini may be tired?

There are some nights where he probably feels the way David Cain felt at the end of that Arkansas game.

I guess the staff really thought LoVett would be on the floor, because there'd be a fifth-year PG transfer on the roster right now if they hadn't.

I recorded the game and watched it late when I got home. A couple of things:
If we play like this, we will win games
I am not down on Ellison near as much as some on here and thought he played pretty well (especially against Sumner)
Mussini is exhausted and it is showing in every facet of his game
Ron M is the guy we need to be getting free off of screens for 3's! (He's only hitting them at over 40%!)
Durand Johnson has never seen a shot he doesn't like and just when I don't want him to shoot again he buries a 3!
Felix played the game of his life and we will probably never see it again
Yakwe should never shoot from outside of 5 feet, but he is a beast defensively
They say there are no moral victories in sports, but everyone involved should be proud of what went on in the game last night

The future is bright! That's all I got today

I think Mussini was overrated by many on the board. I think he will be a good 4 year player. Perhaps a 3 point specialist. Re; Felix yesterday he seemed unstoppable going to the hoop. I also think Ellison improving.

Durand Johnson's off-balance long two while we still had a chance was the play that ticked me off. With Sima back, Yakwe can become the weak side menace to anyone trying to score inside the way SirDom was when Obekpa was the block threat.

After watching Mussini play in the St. Francis game, I made my determination that Mussini is too slow, small and weak to be a major contributor at this level. I also hoped that he would prove me wrong. Time will tell.

How fast we have given up on Mussini. Reminds me of the same exact reaction when Harrison shot poorly. Mussini has been overplayed by every B.E. club. Watch the double team after he gets a pick, resulting in a few forced shots. Let's stick with this kid, afterall he's only a frosh and playing out of position. And I expect him to start next year as a shooting guard.

Yakwe had a nice game last night, got robbed by the refs with a great block. Once again he needs to lower his arc on the foul shot. In his last game he shot with a lower trajectory and made them. Kid has great potential, especially operating inside on offense.

Finally got home from attending the game last night. We were totally hosed by the officials. They were more focused on keeping coach in the coach's box than actually watching the game. Without half a dozen (made up) fouls called on blocked shots, a traveling call when our player kept dribbling (Felix I think) and that stupid T called on Felix when the official even said there was no foul language involved and we win that game going away.

But you all saw that.

The best part is the togetherness they kids exude. It was us against the world for them last night and it showed. They were the better team.

I expect to be tossed from the next game I attend with that referee team. What a bunch of pin heads.

No one gave up on Mussini, in fact it seems to be the opposite. My only point is if people are going to keep saying what a great shooter he is, eventually he is going to have to makes some of them to justify it.

Mussini is one of the bright spots of this team. Together with Sima and Yankwe we have 3 solid contributors going forward.

After watching Mussini play in the St. Francis game, I made my determination that Mussini is too slow, small and weak to be a major contributor at this level. I also hoped that he would prove me wrong. Time will tell.

I got attacked for saying early on that he wouldn't be able to get his shot off the dribble in Big East competition because he was already struggling in the OCC games. Some know-it-all ridiculed me for that opinion. Now that seems to be the consensus. If we had another capable distributor, Mussini would benefit greatly.

Great analogy...Arkansas ran him into the ground...And, he was a very good ballhandler and natural point guard
