Me? Right now, I am reasonably worried that we havent shown we can play well against mediocre to good teams, especially on defense.

Considering all the sju gear i bought as xmas gifts, i hope we win big.

Mrs Beast reported not happy with the $$$$ spent on SJU gear for Gifts . Rumor has it in the thousands . Maybe more .

That’s in addition to all the SC and Charleston stuff he bought at City Market .

You know how Wives are , even if you can afford stuff , they still have to get their . 2 cents in . It’s part of their DNA .

You hear the comments . “ Why did you buy that ? Do you need 6 Sweatshirts ? Are you really going to wear that in public ? You think the friends and relatives you bought that stuff for , are going to wear that ? “

And , you would be right . Everyone has their opinions . Only RP’s counts though .

It’s obvious Pitino has the green light out for Daniss . And , it has nothing to do with bringing Pizza to his apartment .

I surmise that RP has told Jenkins you need to make plays , penetrate , get the ball to Soriano as much as possible . Why ? Dingle had shown no skill in beating his man off the dribble and can only score from outside . Ledlum can get to hoop but , it’s questionable he can finish much of the time ..

Much has been made of Jenkins not getting fouled a lot . My assessment as a Amateur is that Jenkins is very crafty and slippery and defenders don’t get to him much , because of that .. He also uses his left hand very well and it’s harder to block his lay ups . Or , foul him .

Plus , the BE is notorious for swallowing whistles on a lot of drives to the hoop . I recall yelling at the Screen when , either Ponds or Posh would go to the basket , get clobbered with no call .
 
Huge game to get off on positive note in BE play with UConn road game looming. Johnnies have to hold serve at CA and avoid poor start in BE play we have found ourselves in all too often. Xavier guards have played well, Miller is solid coach, but Joel will have the edge down low & hopefully we run everything through him. Should be a battle, but time to put a W on the score card. Defend like hell with discipline from opening tip, move the ball for good looks and play smart like all these veterans we have should.
 
For what it is worth ….. Kenpom gives the Johnnies a 56% chance of winning amd forecasts a score of 78- 77.

I know we always post this, but I think 90% of posters are within 3 games in overall win projection for the season.

The scary part of that is that projection is squarely on the bubble so one or two losses will decide our fate in either direction.

If we were going to lose with young kids it would make this year seem less important, but we have 6 5th-year seniors and our freshmen and sophs barely play.

We need to win this game.

He is.

He’s averaging 38% from the field and 27% from 3. He’s averaging 1 FTA per game (which is almost impossible) and I can’t remember one of them coming from drawing a foul in the lane.

He leads the team in shot somehow…has absolutely no conscience. He was 1-6 yesterday and drove the ball down completely off balance and took a jumper 3 seconds into the shot clock.

He gets beat off the dribble literally every play.

And he’ll get 10-5-5 every game.
