Ahmed with a double double tonight. For all those who can’t wsit for him to leave :(.

Redmannorth, Ahmed's lack of basketball IQ and his complete selfishness as player at certain times during games negates the production that he is giving this team. Early in the first half when we got off to a good start there was sequence I believe when he forced a drive, missed a layup, clanked a bad 3 pt shot and committed a foul away from the ball as he was running back on defense. That sequence along with his other two bad fouls killed our momentum in the first half. If we have a lead at the half or are tied maybe we win the games at the end with an extra 6 or 7 points in the first half. He does something akin to this every game. Yes , I can't wait for him to leave. Next year put Clark at the 3 with Brooks at the 4 and we will be much better off.

Even with his usual allotment of missed layups, offensive fouls and missed free throws I thought Ahmed played reasonably well. But count me in as one of the people who have not enjoyed Ahmed experience. Looking forward to him graduating. No hard feelings just do not like his game.

Last night I was thinking about comparing Ahmed's bone head decisions to our departed Ellison.

Yeah while others bemoan the Ellison loss, my remote control simply would not have survived having both of the on the same team for another year. Different kind of frustrating but both frustrating.
Reggie Jessie, Ahmed and Ellison were three recent players who I went back and forth on before finally settling on wanting them to go away.

Ahmed still plays like he is playing JUCO ball where strong players are able to get to the rim much easier than playing in the big east. There is also the attitude in many JUCO programs that if I give the ball up I ain't getting it back.
Usually players learn to adapt but Ahmed continually tries to bull his way to the rim.

A friend of mine who really knows college basketball said this about Ahmed, "When you are building a team from scratch you need a guy like that who isn't afraid to take a lot of shots and who will score a fair amount of points. Once you get better you'd never go for a guy like that." He's kind of reckless, great athlete, will fire at will, at the worst of times, and sometimes will even make a big bucket or two.

Throw in Ahmed’s 58 percent free throw shooting and the miss that would have tied it, near the end . The lack of B.B. smarts , limited rebounding , foul prone defense and the bull rushs to the basket that yield nothing . There is no question that he does play hard . Like someone said you can fill up the stat sheet but, you look back on the plays that might have cost you the game .. Owens getting faked out of his jock , again, by a lumbering Kanter and getting the goal tending Call was a back breaker . Replay did show it was the right call . We need some of those lumbering inside players . Send Matt to Europe for the summer .

I have it on good authority , we will win 6 of the 8 remaining games and finish 6-12 in the BE . Just 1 win less than last year . ????.

Mussini would have shoved that shot down back his throat.

How are you gonna have winning 6 of our 8 remaining games on "good authority?" No offense, but do you know the meaning of the term?

I would add Anthony Glover to the list of players who would not have allowed Macura to get away with his crap . Probably , Charles Minlend and Matt Brust . Reggie Jessie would have given him a groin shot and Ron Artest might have put him in the hospital . Don’t see that grit on this team .

Port “Authority” maybe

Good to see you still have a sense of humor Sly!:D
At least you didn't re-tweet a tweet from Yakwe's guardian saying he would be out for the remainder of the season or Owens' dad tweeting that his son would attend Tennessee State on a grad scholarship, or that Alibegovic was joining the staff next year as a grad assistant to work with the new young players focusing on defense, rebounding and the art of the 3 point shot.;)

Good one , 72.. Above all, I know the overriding frustration to the point of fan insanity here is a result of nearly 20 Years of mostly bad basketball . And , we all suffer from it . If you are a Alum of the school as you and I are , from decades of very good basketball we have plummeted into a Abysss we want out of ! It’s gut wrenching and you and I aren’t getting any younger . I had hoped we could return to a mid tier Competitive status in the BE and , once in a while maybe Win the conference . It hasn’t happened ,whether it was Roberts or Lavin or Mullin . I do believe the single most cause of this dreadful Season is the loss of Lovett . And , I don’t feel good about the way , he and his family did it . But, it’s a Me First World today and he did what was best for him . Maybe he should have bolted last year instead of mid season ? Let’s get this season over with .. Get the new additions on board , pick up a big 5 Th year inside player and a sharpshooter from 3 like Rousey or that type . Then , let’s go in 2018-19 ! What do you say ?
