Xavier game

Lavin needs to stop with these gimmicky lineups and recognize who is main eight players are. Some may say we are a better team than Xavier, but not a better coached one in my opinion.

Were we better coached when they didn't score for 11 minutes though? It has been a game on runs. Unfortunately our fans like to judge us on our lulls rather than overall work. This game isn't over but need another run. Maybe one where we are better coached... ;-)

Not hard to see that at all. I understand, within reason, effing with the lineup and the rotation during the out of Conference portion of the schedule, but once its the BE regular season, enough.
Why play Greene over Jordan? Especially when it was closer and fouls weren't a concern?

Greene actually averaging 10 ppg and had like 5 turnovers all year. Not a horrible decision there IMO.

St. Johns needs to go on a run right now if they want any chance to win this game.

Just a quick 6-0 spurt and this is a new game, Harrison has been way to hype today, running around and throwing up shots before his feet are set, he's too excited I think right now

He's not a PG though, and that's is what we are lacking with him in.

Stand and watch the loose ball, play the pick and roll poorly with no rotation. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

The only guy who showed any ability to penetrate earlier was Jordan. This D is too quick for Greene. Jordan has the quickness and the size to deal with it. Greene and Harrison are shooters. We only have one true 1 on this team and, even though he's a freshman, it's Jordan.

Mack has at least finalized his rotation, while we are still in the lab. They were cold as ice in beginning and Mack held things together, realizing they were getting open looks. Like that Lavin has revitalized program and recruited well. I just am not impressed with his strategic ability. Back to the game.

Greene has to stay off the ball. It's true that when he gets the ball nothing happens. He has to move for shots off the ball, catch and shoot. Nothing else. We move the ball around the perimeter and someone makes a one on one move. No offense at all. Not making Xavier work. Just and awful job at both ends this half. I think we're a better team, but not showing it at all.

Xavier has shooters, which can open up the floor for them on offense.

They have a good plan on defense, but I'd just work the ball into the post (by feeding Sanchez and Sampson).

IMO, they haven't shown they are a better coached team.

If anything, I'd criticize Lavin for not giving Jordan the bulk of the minutes at point guard, and not moving Greene off the ball. That's my problem with the "coaching" today.
