with exactly 2 months nto go lets get some

I stick by what I wrote and pray that I am wrong.
A 50% improvement in wins from 13 to 20 would be real good but there are too many unknowns at present, meaning how will a whole bunch of new players blend in with the returnees, to think we can do better than 20 wins. Just far too many unknowns at this point in time.

The returnees and new players seem to be getting along fine. In fact last week I saw Chris and Phil after practice getting some dollar slices. Passing the gym as they are practicing is getting me excited, you can hear the energy. These guys look pumped and I can't wait to see what they do. They have also been practicing together, with the exception of Amir since early August so by the time that November comes around they should be passing well. Plus the returnees will know each other better and have a better idea what some will do. If Sir'dom focused on his shooting, driving, and scoring this summer, I think he will be the most improved player on the team.

In no way was I referring to how they would get along off the court but rather on the court.
The 5 returning players all logged huge minutes last season and are a proven commodity. Now 7 new players must be integrated into the mix. Anyone who has ever coached knows that is no easy task.

I understand what I'm saying is totally subjective, but watching the highlight reels Sampson just appears more flashy and intense. He seems like the better overall player because he can shoot better (from what I saw). I can't tell you how many times I'd watch an SJ game and Harkless threw up bricks. If it's not a layup or dunk he just isn't that good quite simply. I think Sampson can consistently knock down the jumpers and doesn't only need to rely on dunks or layups. Hooper is also interesting...the kid is a lights out shooter. When he is open, he knocks em down especially from downtown. Should be an interesting year.

Harkless a better shooter than Sampson to range, even if he didn't develop it at SJU. Harkless is a smooth shooter. Sampson will have some Raw edges to his game and his shooting won't be spectacular off the bat. Give him time though. He's a great motor and athlete. His midrange has gotten better and he's got a quicker first step than Moe at same height. Different skills, but he'll be good. I think Sanchez might be the one that looks to really surprise though, ad a 6'9" forward with range.

Amir also has decent form on his jumper and I hope he hones it like Postell did. I expect a bit of progress in the areas of shooting in the offseason. Usually a big jump from freshman to soph.
MC, I have not seen any tape. Can you , or any here, please let me know if any of the guys excel at grabbing a board and going right back up with it.

Re: Others....friends who saw IMG play this past season tell me offensive rebounding is one of the biggest strengths of Christian Jones.

I really hope you're right, but I mean come on. If there was really the expectation for this team, they would be talked about on ESPN. Why is it so much to ask that we at least crack the rankings first before we say we are an elite 8 team? I will need hard evidence this year to make me feel like we are a possible elite 8 team next year. That hard evidence includes a top 15 ranking, consistently beating ranked teams, finishing top 5 in the Big East, etc. I just don't see it happening.

I really believe that if we improve as much as I think we will think season and is 20-10 at seasons end that we could make the NIT and win it, win 2 or 3 in the B.E. tourny then we`ll make the NCAA and maybe win a game or 2.
You don`t think 10-8 is possible in the B.E. this year?

We got those 5 returnees that has B.E experience from last year, Sanchez looks impressive from what i hear, gotta believe that with playing time Branch will improve this year, Sampson will start slow as he gets college games under his belt and by February will be a big part of this team.

So with all those returnees next year they`ll have good college ball experience. Then hopefully we get a few big time recruits and I`ll be excited to watch them war with any damn team in the nation.

Mark my words, NEXT YEAR IS THE YEAR WE DO BIG THING.

But first lets enjoy this year REDMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
