Will the NIT Be Good Enough in 2019?

Sadly I would be ok with the NIT. Even if we get HERON ellegable (50-50 shot), virtually every single season I can recall comes with an unexpected injury, transfer or other blow. Who will it be this year? We can only imagine.

From a Numbers standpoint...We have averaged 4 wins and a .222 big east winning perfectage the last three seasons. 9-9 in conference; 19 or 20 wins overall and winning a few NIT games? I would sign up for that in a heartbeat. Sorry gents, we haven’t won an NCAA game in 19 years. We should set our expectations accordingly.

Cubs didn't win the World Series in like 108 years until they did. Just sayin.

It's not college football, though. It doesn't take many players to have a great basketball season, even if previous seasons have sucked. We've got talented players who if given the right coaching and system will be able to run a lot of teams into the ground.

The way I'm thinking of it is NIT would be a disappointment w/o MH, a major miss with him.

Unfortunately, NIT is like an off Broadway show.... in another state.

I couldn't even recall who won the NIT this year.....had to look it up just now... Penn St.

That's because NIT stands for Not In Tournament
I'm with NC Johnnie - we should make the Big Dance with or without Heron
NIT would be a major disappointment IMO

The NIT is a mere shell of what it used to be and has lost it's luster
When UCLA was winning those titles, the NCAA field was 32 teams, 36 teams less than today
The increasing size of the NCAA field has watered down the caliber of the NIT tremendously
Forget about the CBI, etc. It seems that almost any school can get into a post season tournament

As long as they don't get rolled over on the defensive end that should work.

The’D’ side of the game may also be quite good for us, if Shamorie indeed adapts to it, and adding Heron, Figueroa, big man Keita, and Greg Williams into that mix.
And as we all know, ‘rice’ can be sticky.
