Will the NIT Be Good Enough in 2019?

No, I don't think the NIT would be good enough. If Heron is eligible, this shouldn't even be a question.

Not if everyone is eligible and healthy.

Now, if Heron does not get the waiver, and Ponds goes down for the year with an injury in December, and someone else leaves after the first semester, that changes things.

If they put up, will you shut up? :) just kidding, but had to say it .

No, the goal is NCAA's. I think at this point we are no better than a bubble prospect, with a goal of 9-11 wins in conference. 10-11 wins should get them in with a good OOC record, 9 on the fence with a fair chance.

9-9 Conference, 10-3 OOC puts them on bubble
anything less than 9-9 probably lands them in NIT.

This is the equivalent of a guy living off saltine crackers claiming from now on he will only eat Filet Mignon and lobster.
I am tired of crackers but would settle for a nice ham and cheese on rye. Play well with a winning record and I will be fine.

Color me ‘expectant’, Beast, but IF Heron plays next season, I think 11 BE wins, in a ‘down’ year for the Conference is the ‘under’. Add 11 OOC wins and maybe 2 in the BET, and a 24-10 record means ‘dancing’ imo.

Considering that Maher is the lobster roll king this becomes a very confusing metaphor.

Other than that I don't think the coaches and players would consider NIT as good enough.

I don't trust Lobster rolls. I think they use the lobster equivalent of the "shrimp" you see in egg rolls.
If Heron eligible and Ponds and Simon don't contract Scarlett Fever, yes should make tourney. But I am a long time Met, Knick and Johnnie fan so I am way past expecting good things and will simply hope for watchable.
I simply think ST john's basketball fans can not afford to lay down overly optimistic goals.
