Who is Trilly Donovan Article

Because a Geographical relocation for a kid from Florida sounds better than “ he took the Florida $$$ and left NY , Pitino.

RP knew he might be getting Alleyne at that time . Or , not .

Also , I still contend that Jenkins was a more important get for Rick than Clayton jr . It appears to me that RP has already given the keys to running the team to Daniss and that was his plan all along .
Clayton led the country in FT % and shot 43% from deep. He plays ridiculous defense and can run point just as well as Daniss with wav more upside. The only reason he played off the ball more was because he was the superior shooter. Flip their shooting %s and their assist #s are identical last year.

I think it's more of a charade, rather than a farce.
Funny, I originally typer the word "charade", but changed it to "farce"'before posting. It's actually both. Reality is, if there's nothing wrong with it then there's no need to not call it what it is.

I agree. We are all aware that whenever professionals say they it is not about the money, it almost always is about the money.

In today’s world of the NIL, college athletes will fall into the same category.
Agreed, except the use of words like "money", "compensation", etc is taboo at this point in coilege sports. The average fan doesn't have a clue as to how college athletes are compensated. At least everyone knows what pro athletes make. This entire system is so secretive, and secrecy lends itself to corruption.

As long as we are as corrupt as the rest of the Jones I got no problem

I'm not sure the IRS can account for every penny, so if I'm a kid, I'm never mentioning how much I'm getting out loud.

Good luck with that. I think they are more likely to announce their NIL deal on social media.

Have you actually seen a kid affix a number to whatever product they are hawking? I never have.
Not yet. And most of my comment was tongue in cheek, because nearly everything someone does now is shared on social media.

But if it kids eventually will be designated as school employees, it won’t make much of a difference.

I imagine that would be terrible for the kids -- there will be serious uproar when a star player is the third or fourth highest paid employee at the university.

Matt A. brought that up as something he sees as a real possibility. They are pros now.

Besides, we already know the college QB is fourth behind the football coach, basketball coach, and university president. 😉

We really don’t know the exact facts . So speculation becomes opinion.

Anyway , I’m happy we have Jenkins . Regardless of whatever it was with Clayton jr .

As things have turned out , with Wilcher , Alleyne , Cruz , etc in addition to Jenkins we are well stocked at both , guard positions .

Is that the kind of thing(tax evasion) that the schools and the NCAA really want to be involved with? I'd like to think that the people in charge are setting the right example for the athletes. If that's not the case, it's only a matter of time before the IRS targets and goes after them. If they haven't done so already.

Not to mention the universities and agents will have huge legal problems on their hands if they are in the middle of an IRS investigation.

I'm not saying that the schools and NCAA need to be completely transparent with this new hybrid Pro/AM model, but the utter lack of any transparency does make one(me) wonder what's going on behind the scenes. If there's nothing to hide, why hide it.

I think the schools will have to be very careful and transparent. Players can get paid, so cheating is almost nullified (unless you are Penny Hardaway, who cannot seem to stay out of trouble) and there is no need for “bag men”.

But if anyone is cheating on their NIL, then everyone involved in the program probably pays for it with a large punishment. This is why programs have GM’s to muddle through it.
