Who is the speediest player in SJU hoops. Who is the smoothest opponent you e

Speediest Curtis Johnson

Dont go far before 87-88 so smoothest for me was Malik Sealy

From baseline to baseline with the ball, Dom Pointer was a rocket ship. I can only think of one thing at a time these days, so I have to pass on the smoothest opponent.

Hard to compare players of different generations but I agree with Matt that they didn't come much faster than Joe Depre.

I actually felt bad for Cujo. The kid really tried, however his feet were broken down. I once saw the sun rise, then set, waiting for him to hobble baseline to baseline.
Quickest was Kevin Williams. Smoothest opponent was Richard Hamilton.

Dont forget our own Rasheem for fastest. And who was that BC guard from about 20 years ago. Sorry the old memory is failing me. Join

Troy bell...

People not following the rules here but as far as speed goes, Colin Charles was really fast. Not an amazing player but quite fast. As far as smoothest opponent, there are a lot. I’ll go with Terry Dehere whom I remember being a smooth operator on the court.

He was one of them. Over the years theyVe had several. Name of the guy who went up against Barkley.is another. They've had several more.

Whomever one chooses as speediest player in SJU hoops is "our own" and given the distinction between speed and quickness I'm going with "our own" David Cain as speediest end line to end line on the dribble.

Maybe posters don’t want to mention him because of how it ended but it’s hard to be any quicker than healthy Marcus Lovett.

Boo Harvey was probably the smoothest, he never appeared to get rattled. Just played his game and came through in the clutch.
As for the fastest with the ball, I have to agree that Marcus Lovett gets the nod.

Any relation to Greg Boo Harvey? :silly: Lou didn't let him use his speed. I recall one time when Lou was giving him the slow it down hand motion and it caused Boo to commit a 10 second violation. Ah, good times! ;) :)

Boo's first year was kind of a mess.
The few times he stole the ball and raced downcourt, he was a streak of lightning.
But Louie would never let the reins off him.
His second year (2 years later), he was a different player, bought into the system and had one of the most spectacular seasons of any SJU player.
