If you heard loud moans that night, they were probably coming from me. Couldn't believe we lost that one to our local "rival," especially since we had a team (with Kenny & Bobby Mac and the great Sonny Dove) that had beaten #1 Michigan in the Holiday Tournament and would go on to win the NIT. Haven't been back to the Rose Hill Gym since ... except to see the Beach Boys the next year, that is.

My first game was the 92-93 season. Went to the Pitt game On Feb 6 at The Fitzgerald field house. I was going to school up the road at CMU. My girlfriend at the time was on the Pitt dance team and got me the tickets. We sat real close to the action. This was the shawnelle Scott and Lamont Middleton Team. Good game but we just lost by 2. jerry McCullough hit a big three to put Pitt ahead with under a minute to go. We couldn't come back. I stuck around afterwards and got to meet some of the players, Lamont, Mitch Foster, And Sergio Luyk. All good dudes. Funny my first game was in Pittsburgh despite living a good deal in Jamaica estates...

I believe it was a 1970 game at Alumni Hall. SJU v. St. Francis ( I was a kid and my oldes brother took me as he attended SFU. Mel Davis was SJU star.
