When did you find this site and how?

Just curious.

I stopped watching St. John's retired, but would read about them in the papers.
In 1997-98 they started doing good again (Fran's second season), they won 7 straight games and even thought thev name changed, I decided to google Redmen or Redmen.com just to see what came up. One of the links I saw was this forum, I thought it was an old link but I clicked it, and seen it was a message board.
I been here everyday during the season ever since.

I found this site during the coaching search after Fran was fired (the search that gave us Jarvis) - I've been a daily visitor and sometimes poster ever since.

Googled “St Johns basketball message board” when I was in HS after deciding to come to school here. Was during the 07-08 season and it was a closed message board at the time. Posted a lot on JJ until registration here opened up a few years later.

Started following during my college years (2000-04), since I went to college in Boston, and couldn't watch the games, unless they were on national TV. This was a good way to get game recaps, and really get in-depth stuff beyond the box scores (I mean, it still is, but there are other options now, too).

I was an Alumni Lurker back in the mid 90s. Would read all the posts from guys like the Maven or some guy in Connecticut. One day a guy passes my desk and asked if I was an SJU fan. Told him I read the site and he told me to sign up. So I did.

I would have guessed you learned about it the same way I did: From that porn movie where Peter North was wearing a redmen.com T-shirt.

My dad told me about this site when I was in like 7th grade. I read it so I could keep up with news of Lavins recruiting, which as we all remember was on fire when he first started.

Started posting shortly after

I have been on this site for 20 years plus.
I cant remember how I found this site nor what I had for breakfast.
I seldom post on the basketball team as my 13 inch black & white philco has troublesome rabbit ears.
I usually post daily during baseball season about my beloved yankees as my 43 inch colored Samsung gets their games.

Every day for 23+ years and only 87 posts? It's almost like you were posting under another name (or two, or three, or twelve). That or you are lying about how long you've been posting here. Either way, you'd be better served following through on your promise to move on to JJ.

I also can't remember exactly how I found the site; it was soon after it first started; but once I did many years ago I joined. I was under a different username back then.

Like the site a lot and various great posters who share my passion for the school and the team.

Best memory: befriending a poster named "old '59" if memory serves me and corresponded with him. He was an older gentleman a graduate of the school from its Brooklyn days. Lovely guy who re-located to Louisville because of his wife I think. Poor guy passed away not long after our friendship on here began. His wife wrote to tell me and I posted a tribute on here a long time ago now.

double alum-- tried and true johnny, who got many non St. John's people following our team because of my enthusiasm, but that has certainly waxed and waned by this time.

I stumbled upon this site the year we were recruiting Darius Miles, Cook, Shaw, Cuffe & Mohammed Diakite as I was surfing the web for info on our recruiting efforts. Been a fan since 1964-65 but not an alum, so hadn't heard about it through word of mouth. Read the site regularly for years but never posted until late 2016 when I was getting ready to retire. Love this site, first thing I read when I wake up and am having my first cup of coffee!

I said " I been here everyday during the season ever since." I never said I been signing on ever since then.

Try harder SJUFAN.

A friend told me about "wire" in New York black basketball community that Fran was starting to get a racist label because of mistreatment of players and I went on line to find out more. Found "redmen.com" and then Fran was fired. Became STJ fan while living in Boston when NYU went Division III and all my Boston friends were BC fans (before I did my doctoral studies at STJ).

No need to try. You make everything as clear as crystal. We see you.

Hahaha You seem to be obsessed with some guy that you think I am. That's not a good thing SJUFAN.
I'm done responding to you so as someone said to another moderator yesterday, you can have the last word. I know you will post again.

I read about some guy named Paul launching this site on the aol St Johns basketball message board . Assume it was mid 90's. Aol message boards before that. Who else?
