Agree with most except: Swap Wusu and Roberts...and also Toro and Caraher

I love Earlington's game because he plays like that crafty 50-year-old guy at the Y who torches the young'uns.

He has all these subtle moves and fakes that frees him up for these soft layups where he barely gets his feet off the ground.

IMO gotta move GWill up!

I am late to the GW camp, and still skeptical. But, yesterday's game (other than the missed FTs) was very impressive and if he stays that course, I would agree..

Think Toro will get better and serve a useful purpose

Toro is the one I'm least impressed about. Doesn't seem to play with tenacity, not a strong finisher. Not a good sign when you get nervous leaving him out there so long. Caraher at least will put forth the effort and has more skill IMO.

Here's mine:

1- Champs
2- Posh
3- Williams
4-Cole
5-Moore
6- Dunn
7- Wusu
8- Earlington
9- Toro
10- Roberts
11-McGriff
12- Caraher

I'm not ready to give up on Toro, he does a lot of little things well (good passer, rotates on D) and both CMA & Coach Pressley spoke very highly of him in preseason. Agree his rebounding has been disappointing so far but I see him getting more time than Roberts. Williams/Cole really close at 3/4 I could go either way but Williams has such a well rounded game.

Too early to give up on some of these players as they try to fit into CMA’s system. Confidence will increase when comfort level increases.

Earlington misses too many bunnies for me. And he cannot be the guy taking the 3rd most shots in any game like he did last night, I believe.

I think that can still be fixed. Coach just needs to tell him to look at the basket and slow down. He will get a few shots blocked but will not miss so many easy layups.

Earlington is exactly a 50% shooter from 2 for his career at SJU. He has worked to become a legitimate 15-20 minute per game BE player, a decent to good off the bench player, but for whatever reason he is either overrated or underrated by most here. He has had a slow start in the first three games, with a good stretch against LaSalle, but at some point in the season he will have his moments.

After Champs and Posh the list will vary from game to game with the guys listed 3-9 with the exception of Roberts on the offensive end. Defensively I think Roberts is a better player than Toro. Toro is really slow and so far not a particularly good rebounder. He did make one beautiful pass but I can see why he was an inconsistent contributor at GW. If Roberts is healthy I would like to see him in there with Moore at times. I like that combination for a different look. I think McGriff can be useful like he was last night. Caraher is frustrating because he doesn’t knock down enough open shots which is what he needs to.

A lot has changed since the first game. What's everyone's power rankings looking like now going into conference play?

Mine are...

My power rankings would be....

1.Champagnie - The leader on the team, they look completely different when he's on the court, can score at all 3 levels, hasn't had a bad game yet, he's looking like an all big east player.

2. Posh - Is the teams best on ball defender and best distributor. Should have more steals than what he has, other plays have benefited from his steals, he'll knock it away and they'll pick it up and get credit. He's gotta get more aggressive on the offensive end, but overall he's looking like a future member of the big east all freshman team.

3. Williams - Still struggles with consistency, however, he's starting to figure it out, he's improved every aspect of his game from a year ago. He can get hot at anytime and score in bunches, also currently leading the Big East in steals.

4.Cole - Like Williams, he has has struggled with consistency and he gets frustrated really easily. Ball handling still needs to improve dramatically, but he's a scorer and just finds a way to put the ball in the hole.

5.Moore - Has had his moments, he runs the court really well, but sometimes takes ill advised shots and makes bad decisions. He'll improve and clean that up, still by far the best big man on the team.

6.Wusu - Outside of Champ and Posh he's been the most consistent, doesn't score the ball a lot but still a scoring threat, he's pesky on defense and just knows how to play the game, he's becoming my favorite player on the team.

7.Earlington - My guess is he'll play much better moving forward, he had a great game tonight, and he knows he'll be needed, looking forward to seeing him play an important role in conference play.

8.McGriff - Been giving really good minutes the past couple of games, gets after it on defense, and if left open he can hit the wide open 3. His minutes probably go down once Dunn returns, however he's shown he can be a capable back-up for spot minutes.

9.Roberts - Ranking the remaining 3 guys gets tough, I take Roberts over the other guys because at least he's had a couple dunks and grabbed some steals when other guys knocked the ball away.

10. Toro - As someone that was excited after hearing all the glowing practice reports on Toro it's been a disappointment so far, he picks up a lot of silly fouls, he gets outmuscled on rebounds, and just hasn't played well in general. CMA has given him a lot of opportunities hasn't turned into much yet.

11. Caraher - I don't know what to say here. I'll keep it nice. He's always energetic on the bench and really supports his teammates, and is eager to shoot the ball when he checks in.

12. Dunn - Has only played one half, looking forward to his return.
