What are you looking forward to this coming year.

Looking forward to some structured offense which I don’t think I’ve ever seen at sju in my time. It’s always been some motion/weave type BS that repeats itself until a miss or a make. Offense under Lavin was pretty fun, but other than those few years, I’d like to see offense that can best utilize our players.
 
I’m looking forward to continued relevance, which began the day Pitino was hired. Slowly but surely over twenty years it has become almost impossible to find a friend or neighbor that you can discuss SJU hoops with as the program sank into pure oblivion.

Lately its been something seeing how many people are starting conversations with me with “hey, you’re a SJU fan”. It had gotten to the point where bringing them up could empty a room.

At least I think that’s why people were walking away from me.

World Peace ? Is that Ron Ron ?

Don’t know of anyone has a clip of George Carlin ‘s video on World Peace ? It’s very funny but , has some food for thought . For Example :

Why? Because Americans like War! We are good at it ! America is only 200 plus years old and we have had 10 Wars ! That’s 1 every 20 years .

World Peace ! F that ! We don’t like Peace ! War is what Americans like ! “ We like to Win Wars too . No sense being in a War to lose . Americans hate to lose . Only the 62 Mets liked to lose . 120 times … We forgave them because they were Amazin .”

Carlin was funny because he could deliver commentary and make it funny . He was 1 of a kind .
 
I am very excited about the coming season, more than I’ve ever been. Always got excited at offseason recruiting success but this seems 100% different. With RP we have instant credibility with most players and coaches. And if a player hasn’t heard of Rick, a father or uncle has . Increases our odds for success exponentially. AND, we haven’t even seen him do his magic on the court yet! I know many people who adored the Redmen back in the 80s who will come out of the woodwork to support this team. I loved Louie and his teams, and there was nothing better than watching us compete against Rollie Massimino, John Thompson, JBoeheim,PJ Carlesimo, and more. My goal for this year is very attainable ,win 11 or 12 league games,10 OOC games AND fill the Garden! Very important!! We need to have MSG games successful immediately.I believe that will happen because Pitino is a star in NY and they will come out to see him, if nothing else. In conjunction with this , I want to see past Redmen honored at EVERY game at halftime! When everyone is there, not pregame when most are still stuck in traffic. There should be a committee or person specifically who coordinates these ceremonies that honor St Johns glorious past! Every game! Much more important than T shirt giveaways! If you do this they will come! Because we will win much more than we lose ! Pitino has the will of a Sisyphus, only he will succeed and win! Already love the new players, and we will win with this group regardless of who else still comes. I’d like MM , ware,and Dingle of course!

Half court offensive play by SJU where the opponent has to guard the SJU player around the three point line instead of leaving him unguarded and encouraging him to shoot which has been going on for too many years.

Thanks! Go easy on me, was texting while driving so actually arrested and writing from holding cell. I vow to repent and rally all prisoners to RP and the Red Storm!
