What are you looking forward to this coming year.

Discipline, commitment and accountability
Development of Soriano and others
You mention Soriano , who is a key piece in next year’s team . Given his stats this year , Double. , Double , he might well be picked on several All American pre season teams .

I think in all the attention given the Portal , we have forgotten how much Joel will bring to the table next year .

Especially , with no Nunge , Sonogo, Wahab in the league . I’ve probably forgot a big man or 2 who isn’t returning .

Absolutely! hoping to see more inside-out work, continued footwork improvement, and addressing the late season issues he had with missing bunnies (I attribute to rushing)

A team that plays fundamentally sound basketball
A team that has player and ball movement on offense, values the ball and limits turnovers
A team that plays aggressive team defense and rebounds the ball
A team that competes for 40 minutes night in and night out
A team that listens intently to it's coach and carries out his directives

“And Rick Pitino in his first year as St. John’s coach has them back in the Big East Tournament Semifinals for the first time in 20+ years!”

That’s what I want from this year haha. I wanna hear Brando or whatever PBP guy on the broadcast say that at the end of our quarterfinal game
Brando would then add ‘imagine the success they would have if Kolby King hadn’t transfer to Wisconsin’

ALSO (last thing I promise) I submitted an application to work at SJU in aiding with first year students with academics, adjustment, etc.

So HOPEFULLY I hear back cause if I worked at St Johns that would be something I would be looking forward to big time this year. Getting to go to like every on campus game would be amazing and also I remember having someone in this role to speak to my freshman year and was so appreciative of that.

I'll keep you guys posted :)

Good luck!

As much as I was a fan of Wusu, I am looking forward to not seeing him inbound the ball down the stretch at key moments.

IDR if he inbounded the ball and got it back to hit that three at DePaul this year.

All of the above...and fans of other teams talking about St. John's with a bit of respect (and maybe even fear) instead of as a joke.
Believe it or not, other teams' boards (except perhaps for Yukon) often spoke well of St. John's and were equally perplexed by us.

Organized basketball.

Meaning:
- we have a few inbound plays,
- shooters who actually take shots and not just throw the ball at the rim,
-defenders who actually cover 3 point shooters,
-no more cross court passes,
-defenders who take away the baseline,
-guys who can FINISH from 2 feet,
-a huddle where players pay attention to the actual HEAD COACH.
- A Coach who doesn’t sit on the scorers table while looking baffled. I threw that one in for MJ Maher.

I know I can think of a few hundred more but…
