West Virginia-SJU Game Thread

Truck had a so so game but a nice career. Little doubt in my mind that if Roberts had enough sense to sign him when he wanted SJU Norm could have still been here. In some ways his best decision for our sake. Thanks Norm and good luck Truck!

Please don't remind us that Norm could have still been here! I am still trying to recover from a six year nightmare!

Sorry to scare you but seeing Truck just reminded me how dumb it was to stick with the munchkins and not try Hardy at the point. What a difference a coach with a brain makes! I was getting a little antsy about Recruiting with Lavin sitting out but any of our prospects who saw last night's game have to be drooling about playing in the Garden with these guys. The sky will be the limit next season.

Honestly, I think Hardy at the point was a worthwhile gamble that paid off. No one knew if he could score from the point, and honestly he was a poor ballhandler. Once other teams pressed, you had to bring in a point like Boothe to get the ball up. I can't fault the previous coaching staff for sticking with point guards, but obviously there was such a huge upgrade and change in thinking that allwoed both Brownless and Hardy to flourish.

I am sure you will get a WARNING for this! Praise the Lord, what are you drinking?

Last nights game reminded me of our blowout win at West Virginia last year. We got out fast with our press and fast break, leaving the Mountaineers with their mouth wide open. If we continue to play this way, you know teams will not want to play us in the Big East Tournament. However, we still need to improve against the zone defense to be more successful.
Look at what rebounding did for us last night, quick passes upcourt and easy baskets. Hats off to Greene and his outstanding game.
