Very happy with Paul Pressey's addition to the Staff as well.
I think his NBA creds and his abiity to work with 'big men' will reap rewards for the players and the team.
I do not know 'how' it'll works within the limits of the constraints on an SA, but I'm sure there's a plan to facilitate Paul's involvement with the players and also advising CMA.
A great hire also, imo.
Welcome aboard Mr. Pressey!

Welcome Coach DeMeo!!!
I love this hire.
His background oozes with experience as well as success at all levels of college hoops and also comes with strong NY Metro ties.
I understand now the Staff has to succeed...BUT man, 'what' a Staff!

Lets be real. There are no restraints. NCAA doesn't have camera's around Taffner. He can't recruit that's the only restriction in place. Otherwise he's as full fledged staff member as the rest.

And it will be a welcome addition. His playing career excelled in the intangibles our players need.

Mullin: 0
Slice: 20
Matt: 10
St. Jean: 0
Mitch: 0
30 yrs

Anderson: 30
TJ: 15
Macon: 20
DeMeo: 25
90 yrs.
Think you're being generous including Slice in the equation given how briefly he was here.
also when Matt got hired I think he only had 4 years maybe 5 in college at Iowa State
Matt only had recruiting exp, no coaching exp and Slice was only there for a year So after year 1 Mullins staff had had 1 year exp each coach. Big difference between the two staffs. I am very happy w the staff and love MAs effort.

A lot of wrongs have been righted in past few weeks. Great to have an AD and HC running things lockstep the way it should be. Culture change I’ve been clamoring for is happening!

Cannot coach on the floor during official practice/workouts. Has to be on sideline, but can work before and after practices and so on so forth. Only difference.

Thanks Moose. Been much buzz on Board about 'limitations', so took the bait. Lol.
Happy to hear, he'll be able to work with players. Agree, he brings much to the table.

Such great 'coverage'...'positive' pieces, tweets, texts, clips...about the Staff CMA has assembled.
Fabulous to witness.
Next step is seeing the follow-through develop within the local/national hoops community, from HS/AAU coaches and recruits ...that St. John's is back.
Here's hoping...

I get it. But again. Who’s watching.
He could write something on a piece of paper and put the paper on a chair for someone to read.
These limitations were primarily put in place when Calipari years ago was hiring 19 assistants while at Memphis. And at that time not even all assistants were allowed on the road at one time. Its all much ado about nothing at the end of the day
Can’t wait until they bring in their 1st 5*
Don't be greedy, usguard...let's start with a couple 4*s first.
Joking.
Yeah, it'll be fun to watch this Staff 'work' the recruiting scene.
Here's hoping we land some very talented kids...

Difference with a guy like Demeo is he’s a hustler. From coaching to recruiting. Van Macon is too. From all accounts TJ Cleveland also a hard worker. On the prior staff, Matt was a hustler on the recruiting trail fornsure and GSJ was a hustler as far as coaching goes but we had nothing else in between. We had quite a few coaches who weren’t “all-in” including Mullin which was a problem. I too favor this staff because of its more traditional makeup with quite a few guys who are both good recruiters and very good coaches. We won’t be scratching our heads wondering who is coaching, making adjustments and who besides Matt is out recruiting. There’s no guaranteed success, but we aren’t putting ourselves in very good position to be consistently successful.

Demeo is not married and doesn’t have children.. he’s pretty much 100% basketball which is great. TJ is a rising star, and also is a hustler. Been talking to people here in Arkansas, and they are surprised MA put together such a staff.. but I love it. So excited.

Hope is important and can carry one through a tough time...the Valley of the Shadow...
But no need for “ hope “ the kind that
“ we hope MA and staff works out “
And we hope
“ We can attract 3-4-5 star kids “
Trust me - and yes
one never knows for sure -
Because with the motivation of Mike Anderson to succeed, with his background of success, with the St. John’s family desperate for a return to glory, with his hard working AND experienced assistants, and with what seems to be a top Athletic Director with Duke roots - that’s Duke...as in Blue Blood...
No need for mere hope or timidity because
WE ARE GOING TO RECRUIT
WE ARE GOING TO WIN
the only issue imo is how far and how fast the Ws appear around the corner.

Give me a reason
For doubt and the need for hope...
Give me a reason
For cynicism or pessimism...

Don’t really see any...
Good time to be a Red Storm fan!
All the best

Such a great feeling for this Queens “kid” to have two Queens “kids” on this staff. Put that together with CMA’’s crew and this is a wonderful staff.

It's a class A staff. Really good interchangeable parts who bring different recruiting and coaching angles and who are hungry to succeed. Trust me DeMeo did not leave a solid job in a tax free state (LOL) to so he could leave recruiting duties to someone else. All 3 of these coaches want to contribute.
