I don't think anyone on this board can definitely answer that question.I don’t want to be THAT guy but.. have we confirmed that their no eligibility issues with Prey? I guess I am asking people who are clued in …any concerns with fraudsters over at the NCAA?
I get this is pro sports now but it would be so NCAA to find something here they have issue with.
You are right Panther. Maybe it’s just my paranoia but everything is written in pencil until I see him playing in a game starting in November.I don't think anyone on this board can definitely answer that question.
Yeah, apparently KY, BYU, & Nebraska, but we had a year-long head start, according to comments. Were any other schools looking at Prey?
Well, he won't be dominant, like Shaquille, Olajuwon, or Ewing--magic like that never seems to come our way--but, based on Zach's piece, other comments and scouting reports, and watching film--I do think he'll be an immediate factor on O and D for us...which is Christmas morning on shiny new bicycles in Johnnies-land.I hope he is the real deal, if he is that is a huge get. Even if his shooting doesn't markedly improve, we will be a beast on defense. someone on the front line has to be able to score
True we have had disappointing results. However, none of them were under Pitino and staff. This is exactly where we rely on the coach’s talent evaluation and Prey or is it pray !The fact that Rick and staff were recruiting this kid for a year or more tells you a lot. They aren’t ones to waste time from all we have seen and they seem to have really wanted him. That said although we haven’t dipped into the international marked often as a program when we have it has been with disappointing results mostly so will temper expectations a bit.
I second that!!!Bem-vindo a bordo do Ruben, ansioso para vê-lo no post e jogar para o Red Storm.
What Im encouraged by is mostly his ability to get up and down the court. If they can work on his mid range (10 feet and in shot), with his ability to put the ball on the floor, he could be an imposing wing (4), not just a 5.St. John’s commit Ruben Prey has ‘high ceiling’ and could make immediate ‘splash’
St. John’s search for frontcourt depth culminated Tuesday in a commitment from forward Ruben Prey. But the 6-foot-10 forward isn’t just another body.nypost.com
