Welcome back LJ Figueroa

Arkansas visit expected within the next week, per source. Miami and Georgia are potential visits. #sjubb

Musselman brutally effective at transfer game[/quote]

This is probably the weirdest situation I've seen. This reeks of someone playing games or trying to leverage something. So, Hsu, is linked to being a hire at St. John's, and rumors swirl that if he's hired then LJ would be staying. No announcement comes about Hsu joining the staff, then LJ conveniently has to visit Western Kentucky tonight, and then the very next school he has to visit just happens to be the school that just fired CMA. I'm sorry but that seems about as fishy as it comes.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Surprising since St. John's (not sitting out) seems like the best option for him. Who knows what's going on behind the scenes, though...

No question it'd be a big blow to our hopes for a competitive season in 2019-20.
I luv LJ, my favorite player last season, but it's been obvious since season's end that he was only with us for 1 more year anyway.
But, yes, a very big blow.
Also, very puzzling about what this means regarding Mark Hsu's 'status'.
Hoping for the best, all-in.

I'm thinking CMA is squeaky clean as reported, maybe HSU is not his type of guy, something's a miss....

A real head scratcher for sure. Unless he knows something about transfer rules we don't, he'd have to sit a year when he appears poised for a real break-out year with us.
Seems like there must be something about his situation at SJU he is not entirely comfortable with. Oh well, just have to hope for the best.

Whatever the situation, let’s get the assistants hired and let’s move forward. If we have to wait for Borman that’s fine buts let’s get Cleveland and the second assistant hired.

LJ and Hsu offer a lot of value to St. John's. Lj can help us continue momentum and perhaps help us avoid taking a step back next year. Hsu can immediately help with recruiting.

Hope this value is realized and hope we can pull both guys into the fold.

Yeah, that was my first thought as well.

If there is any truth that Hsu is somehow trying to use LJ as "leverage" here that is absolutely a reason not to hire him. Strange stuff... only in Johnny land. Hopefully that is not the case.

If such is true, do we really want to put a guy like that on our staff. Seems like shady behavior like that would only lead to other problems down the line.

This makes me want Hsu more. Bulldog. This guy gets players.

Let's not forget that Hsu and LJ go deep, back to HS recruiting and with him committing to NMSU at one point.

I understand college basketball is a giant cesspool and being a fan means holding your nose to the grossness. But what Slater is implicating is that Hsu and LJ's handlers are going to have him go sit a year in Bowling Green, KY for no reason, in obvious detriment to his basketball career, just to gain leverage so Mike Anderson hires Hsu and the handler gets something under the table. That is child abuse. If that is what is really going on we should run from these people as fast as possible. I am honestly shocked by the brazenness of it all.

I thought it was reported that Figgy's name was no longer in the transfer portal.
