We Found A Point Guard

I think we have 2 damn good point guards.

I'm done with Branch. Time to live and die with Jordan.

Give Branch minutes, but agree we must capitalize on Jordan's superior upside now. Who knows what roster looks like next year. Seize the moment,

CO is averaging over 24 mins a game and averaging 4.4 pts per game. Unacceptable! Actually him and Sampson are tied in rebounds! Once we reach the BE schedule we are going to need for him to improve in this area if we are going to become a factor in March!

The part of Jordan's game I was most impressed with today was his defense!! He did an excellent job pressuring the ball, did a better job on Fair than Pointer, and rebounded the ball well. His play was the most positive takeaway from today's game and I look for him to improve every game.

Wouldn't mind seeing Branch and Jordan play a lot of minutes together with Sanchez, Dom and Jakarr.

I liked that lineup as well. It played very well together in the Georgia Tech game I went to. The only problem is that as bad as Harrison is shooting, he is necessary in a half court set until Jordan can really develop his confidence to score.

loved his clutch free throws and I thought seeing another freshman Ennis do so well brought the best out of him.
Has a good upside but this game is not close without the one man show from Harrison.

Rysheed has so much talent its scary. At some point he will get into that groove where he is burying jumpers combined with the defense and penetration. I know its said about alot of players but with Sheed sky really is the limit

My biggest take-away from this game was this kid's performance. We will go as far as he takes us. He was getting in the lane at will and he drew contact every.single.time. He started the game timid and unsure. Nobody on this team can do what he does.

did you make the florida party today ?

Richard Steinfeld and his son Josh and me and the manager who thanked me not working and the staff treating us like we had violated some sacred football Sunday code of honor. Good to meet Richard and his son but if we try again it will be at a different place. Live less than ten minutes away so raced home at half time.

So they didn't let you guys watch it? Only 1st half?

Sorry I missed it
Had to do my "civic duty" and play golf with Mrs. Redman, although it poured after I hit my tee shot on #18
I hope we will have another South Florida get together during the season

Really? I thought DLO played well for 35 minutes but, not the last 5 where he was out of control.. It cost us down the stretch as he tried to do too much and resorted to 1 on 1 ball. Sampson too.

CO is a offensive liability. When he is playing it is like we have 4 players on offense! Sometimes I question whether he should be in the lineup!

Really? Did you notice the change in momentum and the change in the game when CO was subbed out for Sampson? Nothing against Sampson at all as he is a great player, but the Cuse players were clearly steered away from the hoop when CO was in the game. It is blatant that the opponents are well aware of CO's shot blocking capabilities and that gives a HUGE advantage on defense. No one, I mean no one in today's college game wants to be on the receiving end a huge rejection. Especially on center stage in the garden. I don't like to blame coaches ever, but that substitution clearly sent us in the wrong direction.

I don't like the title of this thread. Jordan looked great, and I think when all is said and done he's the most talented player on the roster.
But, we already had a point guard: Branch. Taking nothing away from Jordan and D'angelo - I'm big fans of both of them. But I firmly believe that Branch's under-use is hurting this team.

I too ,was disappointed w DLO at the end of the game. He took shots that you would take w 1 second left on the shot clock. Hes great, but he needs better shot selection, IMO. Regarding the Boca get together it was nice meeting Fushia, we had a good time. I talked the manager into giving us sound until the Dolphin game came on. But the 2nd half we had no sound .

Sheed is not the reason for this.

Greene is averaging 25 MPG.

Look no further than that.

Rysheeds performance against the number two ranked team shows as the year goes on he's gonna cut into greenes time big time. Greene should get 10-15 minutes a game, and if his jumper is going (like Bucknell game) leave him in for 20-25 mpg. Otherwise go with Rysheed, if he plays like he did yesterday for the rest of the season

Oh yea, I'm not advocating less minutes for Rhysheed. Just more for Branch and that should come from a few less for Greene and maybe even Dom if we use a 3 guard set once in awhile.

Behind you, I was probably the biggest Branch supporter out there. I was furious that he didn't enter the game until the 12:06 of the first half. He has a very good skill set and there is no denying that. He has a solid jumper, a great jump stop, he knows how to draw contact and avoid charges in the lane. He also has very good vision. The problem with Branch is that he doesn't assert himself. Forget Batman, he's not even a Robin. He'll sit by idly while games slip away when him getting into the lane is the best offense we can hope for. Jordan understands that and expects to be the man. I really thought Branch had a chance to be an all-conference type of player. There are still games to be played and plenty of time, but I am frustrated with Branch right now. I'm not sure if I am more upset with Branch himself or how little the staff plays him.

Much to be excited about Jordan. HE showed he belonged on the court and is at the talent level of anyone on Syracuse. I don't think he brought his A game though. While he is one of the few guys on our team who can create off the dribble and break down a defender, there will be days where he begins to nail shots and will be pretty much unstoppable on the way to the hoop. Either he will be fouled, or he will make layups. Considering that Sampson, Obekpa, and Sanchez could not get very much done inside, that alone tells you about Jordan's ability to operate in the paint.
