Bill was a very smooth and skilled offensive player.

The Bill Cartwright that was an All-American as a soph and averaged 24.5 points and 15.7 rebounds as a senior? I don't even think Vice would average 24.5 minutes at SF.

Obviously I was being facetious. I remember Lou playing Tom Weedock over Paul Berwanger at center for the first 10 games or so and then out in Hawaii he tried to use Berwanger against Cartwright. Didn’t turn out so well. Talk about baptism by fire
