Nova is weak at PG and hopefully pressure breaks their rhythm. With Slater, Daniels, Whitmore and Dixon they certainly still have some pieces to be a challenge. To me, a BE road game is an opportunity to get over the hump with a quality win. We came up short at ISU, but let’s come focused, value the ball and play smart to grab this one. Key game early Imo.

Well if there was ever a game to come out pressing full court this is it. This would be a real quality win if we could grab this one on the road. Fingers crossed and hoping for a strong performance.

Villanova’s Pavilion has not been kind to us.
January 13, 1993, that’s the last time we won a game in that building. Since then 14 straight losses. Let’s hope we break that streak on Wednesday.
I recall that game. If my memory serves me correctly, Rowan Barrett played steadily. I had a sinus infection that was kicking my ass at that time.

Nova has won 5 straight
Actually, Villanova has won four straight following a four-game losing streak. They beat Oklahoma and Penn at home, BC on a neutral court and won at St. Joseph's. Not bad, but I believe we are a tougher out than any of those last four games were. How we stack up against the other Big East teams is the great unknown that will determine where are season is headed.

St. John’s can win this game. Nova doesn’t look great. Of course, our team can be up and down. We need more of yesterday’s team to show up. I expect a tight game On the road. Would be great to get a good Conference win heading into the Holidays and the New Year. Could really set up a run to the Tournament. It’s all there for the taking. Go get it.

Just one thing will decide this game, officiating. If we are allowed to play defense without too many BS foul calls, we win. If not, it will be just like so many other Nova games of the last many years.

Including our last game with that foul which led to the game winning free throws. That was so tough to watch that big lead evaporate

Can a better then usual Johnny team beat a not good as usual Nova team? Based on the optics yes, based on prior competition, perhaps not, based on Nova’s new coach and perhaps system that’s questionable. It should be a very competitive game.

Very excited to be making the round trip from Queens on Wednesday, haven’t been in the Pavilion since my college days.

We are tougher, deeper, taller at most positions the key being Soriano and overall a more balanced team. This is our year to storm down there and beat them into submission w our depth.

Dixon is extremely savvy and from what I’ve seen of Whitmore he likes to create contact himself. Thinking the battle between those two and Soriano/Jones will tell the story. Can our front court stay out of foul trouble against a team who constantly tries to get into your body and draw contact? Arch Jr not gonna blow by our guards and our pressure but he sure as hell will make you pay if he’s the open shooter in the corner.

Play smart, take advantage of size inside, and sneak away with a getable road win.

One thing we've been fortunate with is Soriano staying out of early foul trouble. Him picking up two early fouls and having to sit the majority of the first half could change the dynamic of a game. Hoping the trend continues
