Villanova, Sat. Jan. 14, 12 Noon, FS1/570AM

I really wanted to pick the upset in this game. Have thought from the beginning that we match up better with Nova than we do with some other teams, and figured on a big effort at home in the Garden against a highly ranked team.

The problem is that even with that I don't see how we hold Nova under 90, and even if I'm right about us playing a good game I don't see us scoring more than 83.

So 95-83 Nova.

Am I mistaken or does Villanova have a gang of guards in the 6-3 t0 6-5 range and we have 3 short ones

They play seven guys. Brunson is the smallest one at about 6'3. Hart, Jenkins,Bridges and ,Divincenczo are all around 6'5 and 6"6. Paschall is 6"7 250 and Reynolds is 6"9 240. Our top seven by scoring go 6', 6'1,6'2, 6'6,6'7,6'7 and 6"11. None of those seven weighs more than 215 pounds. Williams and Amar are the heaviest options.

Well it makes sense. Butler beat Nova, We beat Butler thus we are the better team. ;)

An annoyance regarding this game is it could cost the DePaul game. SJU is coming in after two real whipping on the road a third real beating could effect team morale and DePaul has got to be on a high after the come back on Providence.
 
Maybe with a packed MSG Derrick Walker will care less if SJU loses & more about some potential PT here when he sees our frontcourt up close.
