Vanderbilt, Mon., Nov. 23, 2:30 PM, ESPN2 & 970 AM

This board knows even less than we all thought. Everyone had us playing Wake tomorrow. ;)

Indiana loses to Wake
Indy coach, Dwight Shrute, not happy.

Another beating tomorrow?

Yup, unless Indiana is down emotionally, after losing a game they should have won.

Remember, they are ranked HIGHER then Vanderbilt was. Scary thought, though they can't possibly be a worse matchup for us then Vandy was. I guess they could possibly be as bad, but not worse.

A few more game like today, and we might be better off just taking the 2-0 forfeit.

Brutal day in Maui for both my under grad and JD. IU may put a 100 on us but we'll score at least 75 as the Hoosiers don't play any defense (either).

Well.... Give me excitement, if I'm gonna take a drubbing.

Sharks unanimously decline. :)

The best thing about the Vandy game is that Mullin can use the tape to show our guys how an offense should be run. Excellent ball movement resulted in uncontested layups/dunks or wide open threes.

On another note, Mussini. Will never be able to make shots off the dribble. He has to come off picks and catch and shoot. Otherwise, he played a decent game. Sima showed flashes. Christian Jones was aggressive (positive) but didn't finish (negative) on too many attempts. We were short handed and couldn't compete against a bigger, more talented and more experienced team. We will learn and grow from this beating.

And the silver lining in a tsunami award goes to ............. :)

Recorded the game while I was at work and just got finished watching it. It was a good old fashioned blowout and not a shock from where I sit. No reason to think the sky is falling here. We are very inexperienced, undermanned and a work in progress so there will be a bunch of growing pains for us. Vanderbilt has size plus talent and blitzed us early. Are we more the team that went down 30 to 5 at the start or the team that got outscored 62 to 50 the rest of the way by a top twenty team? Maybe the truth lies some where in the middle.

By the way Wake Forest barely beat UMBC (who we dominated) but was able to somehow beat #13 Indiana today. Even Vanderbilt almost lost to Stonybrook in their last game before prevailing in overtime. Mostly November basketball will produce uneven performances and skewed results.

Regardless today was just one early game in a long season. It is time to turn the page and get ready for another top twenty team in Indiana. Hopefully we will have an improved performance tomorrow.

92-55 oh well

Not that anyone wants to hear it but there was one huge positive, only 8 Turnovers.
Maybe part of that was that it was a blowout, and Vandy didn't play pressure def. Still though, it was only 8 Turnovers.
I'm thinking we have a real shot at Wake tomorrow. Are they any better then RU?

Well Wake beat Indiana, guess that answered my question.
Not sure i even want to watch tomorrow. Indiana got upset by Wake, and are going to take it out on us.

Lol, I am in Maui so it has mellowed my temperament for the moment. No dire pronouncements or shark eating sacrifices today. Let's make it respectable tmw and beat the host team on Wednesday!
