I know when Rick came on that was a big part of it. Anyone have any idea in terms of how or what we are going to do to improve the facilities?

i hear better hot pretzels are on the horizon but that can just be hearsay. For now i believe more big east games at the garden for starters. Thats considered an upgrade
If I were consulting the University , I would say forget about upgrades , other than minimal to CA .
Play all BE games at MSG and OOC games at UBS near Belmont Park . Rick could be close to his horses , if he still owns horses .
Reality is not going to build a new CA on campus . Pipe Dream . Building new Facilities should focus on Academic Needs ,
The new Health Sciences and Pharmacy Building under Construction will serve the Nursing Education , Pharmacy and Physician Assistant Programs.
This is and should be the direction of the University . Academic improvements including facilities needed .

Agree completely. As I've been saying all along, use CA as a practice and early season OOC game facility. That's it. No need to do anything major to CA if that's what it's used for.

The problem is the cost of playing in MSG and UBS, and yes, I know it is less than building a new arena in the short term.
Bama , you know better than that . I’m a 65 year plus fan and a Alum .Not a basketballfan I see.
But , reality has to be faced . In this day and age , Schools with much larger Endowments aren’t building new Gym facilities on Campus .
You think G ‘town is ? Seton Hall ? Butler ?
Of course Butler has iconic Hinkle Field House on Campus , which probably still has the Peach Baskets in storage .
Won't the cost be offset by the increased interest and attendance generated by Pitino factor? Others have said that 10k attendance(MSG), I believe, is the break even point.

Maher wants caviar served with lobster rolls. I don’t see that happening at Carnesseca Arena just yet. Then again I never thought Pitino was coming either.

Was just kidding with my remark obviously but my dream of an improved on campus facility will die with me. We do need an upgraded practice facility and improved amenities though.

Yes, but what happens in say 7-10 years when Pitino is gone and we go backwards. Then it's too late to upgrade the facilities because there is no excitement around the program. I say do it before Pitino is gone, or we'll be in trouble later.
I paid $30 pre paid for the Kansas game. Is it now $50?
Can someone explain why we would use UBS instead of Barclays? Honest question. I guess it’s closer to campus, but transportation to Barclays is much better (like a dozen subway lines and lirr), it’s a pro basketball arena, and there’s a bunch of stuff around the arena to do before/after games. UBS is just in a big parking lot on the side of a highway, no cache, and we couldn’t even draw 10k when playing Kansas there. Is it just to keep a relationship with the arena for some reason?
