Up Next: Creighton

They got away with one...MSG win no forgone conclusion for them...kudos to kids for hanging in and getting back in game...good defensive strategy...mental lapse on last Creighton possession...

No moral victory but definite progress continuing

Well, that stunk! Would rather have been blown out than lose this way against the supposedly best team in the BE.

So we have the ball in regulation and OT against Prov at home with shot clock off time game, and we don't get shots off. Tonight we leave a kid with 36 points (when the rest of the team had 24) wide open for a 3. It is coaching. For those of you who do not want to be negative and think to be a fan you have to always be nice and supportive, then good luck to all of you throughout the rest of Lavin's tenure.

I hope someone starts a Fire Lavin chant Saturday. I tried vs Nova and only a few people joined in, I guess because our fan base doesn't even care enough to do that. I won't be able to make the game Sat, and at 2-7 probably not many more.

That was our play?
He had an open look. Might have been from 40 feet, wish it at least would have been Harrison.

What a maddening game. If we don't go to sleep for the first 8 minutes of the 2nd half we win. Horrible charge call on Jordan with a minute left too. Just left shaking my head yet again this season.

Killed by the best player in college ball. Reminds me of Adam Morrison his Sr. Year.

He was shooting over everyone, so I understand why Lavin wanted Obekpa's length to disrupt his shot. Unfortunately, CO didn't stay on him. He took a step into the lane thinking the man with the ball was gonna drive to the basket. When he tried to recover, the other player hip-checked him in order for McD to get the shot off. I would have rather seen another player guarding him that far from the basket. Gritty effort. Tough loss.

Anyone who would have rather seen a blowout than a tough loss like this is insane. This is much better for team morale going forward. Besides, so many people lost money on this game. Betting is stupid!

Wow, this team just cannot catch a break. How many close games can we lose? They had the momentum, the upset was there...and then back to reality.

The charge on Jordan was BAD. But, we cannot blame the zebras. We just cannot close the big games...yet.

On to the next one.

What are you going to do. This Mcdermott killed us. He's even better than I thought and I thought h was pretty damn good before the game

Too bad we wasted the beginning of the season because this is the type of loss I wouldn't feel too bad over if we had a margin for error. But we didn't. So it sucks

We'll get them at home. Team responded big today. Too many mistakes in hostile territory, but this team is ready for a roll and they have the schedule to do so.

Hey Lavin.

That's how you draw up a play.

It's much easier to do that when you have an elite player.

Draw up a play?

Not gonna go back and forth on this, but you mentioned about drawing up a play. Basically, the intention of the post meant more than the play itself.

Nevertheless, McDermott is an elite player, and big-time shooter. He made a play, as he's been doing throughout most of his career. I didn't particularly like the way Obekpa (as, he probably isn't used to being in that position, so high) didn't recognize it and went under (the pick). That was your ballgame.

.... Carry on.

Progress? These kids were all top 100 recruits, its already January 28th, and most of these kids log 30+ minutes for a few years. I guess Saturday when it is February everything will just change

Unfortunately, unless that roll ends with us winning the BE tourney, this season is OVER.

I say they win 5 of the next 6 games.

Do you think Lavin told Obekpa to give him space? watch the reply...Obekpa took his eyes off McD...Not Lavin's fault on that one

Having obepka on McDermott at the end was horrible especially out of a time out. That is what we have Pointer for. Obepka always just goes for the block and was hanging in the paint trying to get the block while the leagues best player was getting wide open.

On offense they should have tried to get the inbounds to half court and then used the timeout. Inbounds at half court with 2 seconds is a lot easier than full court with 2.8
