Many tweets suggest Lavin is a perfect fit. Which suggests no one has seen Lavin coach. Other than replacing Whoopie on the View I cannot think of anywhere he should land.
 
1) Rice was a pretty decent coach.
2) I don't see Lavin going back to coaching ever. He was out of his comfort zone, especially after his prostate cancer. Lavin will be broadcasting as long as he can. He's pretty decent at it, and I don't see him wanting to do another coaching redux at this point. Just can't see it...
 
Lavin would be more of the same -- Rice was better at recruiting than actual coaching. I'm not sure Rice stopped trying at the end, though.

yeah, that league doesn't come close to having the Big East income or exposure.

I can't imagine Lavin's making anywhere close to that now.
 
The biggest mistake in Rollie Massamino's career was to coach at UNLV
I don't see Jay Wright going there at this point in his career
I think there's a better chance of Guy Fieri coaching at his alma mater
